The Qb Controversy Won't End

I don't have any football sense because I think McNair played awful and lost us the game against Indy in the playoffs? Okay, well, then I don't think you have any football sense because we def got by on Stover's automatic foot (breaking his own personal record for consecutive FGs made that year) and the Defense was ranked first in 11 different statistical breakdowns, including; Turnovers, Turnover ratio, Red Zone D, Total yards given up, Total rushing yards given up, QB rating allowed, interceptions, sacks, etc. That alone will win you games. Those things will win you games as long as your QB isn't falling around dropping the football or throwing interceptions on the 2 yard line in the playoffs while your D is holding the Colts to zero TDs. Gimme a break. McNair played awful that game. The pick I've mentioned a few times now was seriously one of the worst throws/decisions I've ever seen a NFL QB make, and it just so happened to be McNair, with a Ravens jersey on, in the playoffs against the Colts. We did not get there because of McNair dude, we got there because of Defense and special teams, like we always do.

Well imagine if we had Kyle Boller under center. Do you seriously think that we would have seen the playoffs that year? We would have seen turnover after turnover and the defense would just be tired. McNair gave the defense plenty of time to rest by not turning to ball over and running the clock down.

Heres somethin thats not related to the QB thing though. I think we coulda won that Colts game if the refs didnt call that bullcrap call on Ed Reed being out of bounds. I "knew" C-Mac couldve returned that INT for a TD which would have given us the lead.

SO and He caouldent win the superbowl?? SAD!! 50 TD PASSES!!! we had 17 and DID 13-3!! WAY UNDER HALF!!

I wouldn't brag about our offense score almost a third of what another offense did  I don't understand how you could possibly bash Tom Brady. The man has, what, 3 Superbowl Rings? Our franchise has 1. Yeah Tom Brady sucks.

I stumbled on to this when I was lookin for 49ers SUCK through google. Im competitive with my Superviser. Hes a 49er fan and claims that Patrick Willis is the next Ray Lewis. I told him hed have to lead his team to the Super Bowl and become MVP at the Super Bowl, Get 2 DPOYs, Lead a defense that had the lowest offensive scores on them (ours was under 196 in 2000 I think)....... Well the list goes on and blah... but heres the thing I was talking about with the Refs and all....

------

Divisional Playoffs - Colts @ Ravens: Overall, I believe the officials have done a pretty good job through the playoffs. That said, Head Referee Bill Leavy (yes, the same Bill Leavy that screwed the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL) and crew continue to be the exception to the rule.

I've written numerous times about letting players decide the outcome of games, yet some officials can't wait to toss the flag. With Baltimore trailing 12-3 late in the 3rd, the Ravens had a promising drive moving inside the Colts 40 yard line. Then along came the officials. Tackle Jonathan Ogden was flagged for a ticky-tack, drive killing, holding call that halted the Ravens. Announcer Dan Dierdorf described the call as "pretty lame". Indeed.

Lest you think I'm picking out an isolated incident of bad officiating, look no further than the 4th quarter interception by Baltimore's Ed Reed. At the time, the Ravens were down 12-6. Indy QB Peyton Manning went down field to WR Marvin Harrison, but Reed made a great pick at the sidelines. As he's falling out of bounds, Reed flips the ball to teammate Chris McAlister. McAlister heads down field only to hear the whistle blow the play dead, ruling Reed out of bounds after the interception. Replay clearly shows Reed was in bounds when he pitched the ball to McAlister. Unfortunately for the Ravens, a quick whistle killed what could have been a big return.

Bill Leavy and crew are routinely cited for mistakes and incompetence, yet continue to draw post season assignments. Just further proof that the NFL does not take officiating concerns seriously.

Not to get too off-topic, but I believe Patrick Willis is the next Ray Lewis. And that's not a bad thing -- it's flattering that an opposing fan would compare a phenomenal young talent like Willis to someone on our team considered to be one of the greatest (if not the absolute best) at his position.

These next two seasons will show if Willis has what it takes to eventually fill Ray Lewis' very large shoes in his career.

And I'm not just saying that 'cause I've been following Willis since reading about him right before his senior year in college.

i dont feel like reading through 7 pages of thread so bear with me if somebody touched on this already... why dont we as a team give boller one more chance? give him a half decent line and hes gonna do well...he has put his body on the line many times and he still get booed by the crowd. i like troy but i dont know what he's gonna bring to the table besides running the ball. sure boller makes stupid mistakes but when he has time he can be effective.

im not trying to stir up a fight, its just my.02
