Remember The Game Against The Lions In 05?

14 posts in this topic

the game against the lions was a very interesting game. we committed 21 penalties which tied for the second most in 1 game, terrell suggs and someone else was ejected (i forget) and didnt we hold them on the one for like 8 straight plays? i remember their rnning back kept trying to dive over the pile and ray would always be there to meet him and knock him back. i just felt like bringing this up because that was awesome!! but we also lost like 35-17 which wasnt very awesome

I remember, Suggs was acting like an idiot and for some reason Kevin Jones kept trying to run and jump through a brick wall with 52 on it.

that game was bull crap! Antother example of the Ravens getting srewed!! How the hell was that not an incomplete pass????? his arm was going forward! The ball left his hands as his arm was going forward!!!! THe stupid **** ref should've done his job and blown the whistle!! That play set the tone for the rest of the game, and it never should've happened.

I think we had 23 penalties, which is the record for most in a game. That's definitely one record we could do without.

Yeah, I believe 23 is correct, made me absolutely sick. It doesn't seem like it's been that long ago '05? Time really flies.

I most remember that riiiiiidiculous goal line stand and the huge smack Bart Scott laid on the Detroit running back that put him out of the game. I was sitting with a bunch of Redskins fans who're now big time Ravens fans based on that goal line stand.

Remember how Detroit was robbed by the officials the previous week against Tampa. This game was just paybacks to Detroit by the officials. I put NO emphasis on that game as a measure of ours team's ability. Forget it.

What in the world possibly made you bring this game up??? Let me guess you perhaps grew up in or around Illinois. I have seriously tried to block this game out of my mind. This game was locked away in my vault along with the 2007 monday night game against the Steelers (see you in Sept. suckers!) the game against the Browns (It should be like basketball if the ball bounces out it doesn't count. The refs must be more soccer fans) and the Pats (WE WON! it was just unofficial), 2006 playoff game against the Colts, and 2003 playoff game against the Titans.

It was actually 21 penalties and it only tied the record for most penalties in a single game, however we did manage to set a record for most penalty yards in a game with 147 yards of penalties. Terrell Suggs and safety B.J. Ward were ejected eventhough B.J. got blamed for something Ed Reed actually did. We gave up eight 1st downs, 167 yards rushing, 4 rushing TDs, and let a 5-11 team score every single time they were in the redzone (4/4). On the drive you remember we stoped them 7 times on 1st and goal (5 stops on our 1 yard line and 2 costly penalties let them get 2 first downs to retry for a TD).

It was some of the worst football I have ever seen. Talk about self distruction. I think the refs called a lot of BS penalties and they called most of the penalties on a lion failed 3rd down attempts or anytime the lions couldn't convert in the redzone. Sounds like some of them bet on this game or were in debt to the mob and had to make up penalties.

(I am seriously heated now after thinking about that damn game!)

We are a New Team!! Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, this IS the second comming of the BALTIMORE RAVENS!!
