Ayendebajo Is A Beast

24 posts in this topic

Brendon Ayendebajo played a great game with 9 tackles and 1 sack. He was also great on special teams. Every play he was in he was somewhere close or involved in each play.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the running for a starting or solid #2 backup LB. He is fast, a hard hitter, and a hard worker.

He did have a good game but we have a whole lot of stud LBs in the wings who are bigger, faster and younger. I still think he belongs on special teams.

This is very true. We are loaded at the LB position. Ayendebajo just stood out in yesterday's game if you ask me. I do like Barnes, and Gooden as well, both of whom are much younger.

It's only the 1st preseason game, but I am 1 to bet that Ayen is here to prove he deserves a spot on this team, and is willing to fight and work for it.

If he is as good or better than Stills on special teams I will be very happy, if he can make a few stops on D then good too, I only worry about his size, can he shock and shed guards on a regular basis? can he stuff guys like Jamal Lewis and not get trucked?

Im not sure Ayendebejo will be a good option when it comes to run stopping but he seems pretty good in coverage and in the open field. Defiantly a crucical piece to our ST

With the new emphasis on special teams, that will be enough to earn him a spot on the team. Anything from there is extra. Whether he plays defense, or just Special Teams, it was another good pick-up.

Well im pretty sure he got a pretty nice paycheck from us so he's defiantly here to stay but if he can find his way onto the field for defense that will be all the more better

open field can help with run defense...making it a 3-4 yard gain instead of 15

ofcourse run defense is never an issue in baltimore

Yea because they gotta get through Gregg and Ngata. Not to mention Lewis, Scott and Suggs.

edit - I also forgot to put in Pryce. Bannan is doing pretty solid so I think he deserves to be up there with the guys.

Starting is iffy. I can see him as a backup, for sure, though. I think his forte still is, and will always be, special teams; that's why we signed him.

I'm convinced that he is probably the only off-season pick-up

Fixed.

Although, does Fabian Washington count, him being a trade and all? He might make a run at the best.

i forgot about washington. that might be a toss-up. nothing against rolle but i hope washington pushes him out and wins the starting job. i think ayendebajo instantly makes our ST credible...and he's an awesome back-up as well

True, true. I think last night's game displayed to us that Washington wants to be here and wants to work hard. He put a lot of effort into that game and it showed.

That definitely came at a bad time, but with McAllister and Rolle healthy, and Ivy and Walker playing nickel and dime, I think we'll be alright.
