Well, Opening Day has arrived!

The Yankees beat the Tigers 6-3...

The Reds defeated the Brewers in walk-off fashion courtesy of former Oriole Ramon Hernandez's 3-run HR in the bottom of the 9th...

UPDATE: Pujols went 0-5 with three GIDP!! Nightmare Opening Day for Albert and the Cardinals, who lost 5-3 to San Diego after leading 3-2 with 2 outs in the 9th; let the "Pujols' contract situation is distracting him" talk commence...

Giants open up their World Series championship defense tonight against the Dodgers on ESPN...

Should be another fun year in Major League Baseball!

Was hoping the Yankees would have lost but as long as the O's win tomorrow we'll be good.

Gaaaaah I'm worried about the Phils. Sure they've got the pitching Ultimate Quadumvirate but with Chase Utley out indefinitely and now with Brad Lidge's bad shoulder.... UGH .... makes things a little nerve-wracking to say the least, ESPECIALLY if Ryan Howard has another off season.

And Pujols' contract stuff is distracting him.

:D

Yeah, the Yanks have two All-Star closers for the 8th and 9th... very scary, and why they're a favorite despite a lack of depth in their rotation.

Kershaw was filthy last night... Lincecum kind-of looked human even though he didn't give up an earned run... those two will be fun to watch for years to come.

Man am I glad I caught the end of the Reds game yesterday. What a way to start the season with a walkoff homer with 1 out left!

Red Sox lost earlier to the Rangers 9 to 5.. Yay! Let's hope we can take advantage by beating the Rays tonight, and stay ahead in anyway possible of the Red Sox/Rays.

The Red Sox are looking at a 0-2 start at the end of the night as the Rangers lead the Red Sox 12 to 5 at the Top of the 7th.

Yankees beat the Tigers 10 to 6 tonight, and Toronto also won 6 to 1, putting a 3 way tie in the AL East between the Orioles, Yankees and Blue Jays with their 2-0 starts.

Jays have been a nice suprise so far. Our better players are stepping up and the depth is playing well. Still early in the toughest division in baseball though, long season

Tim Lincecum gets back on track with 13 K's against division rival San Diego... Boston still can't find a win.

Oh me too. Rather unbelievable.

Happily, my Phillies don't have that problem and neither do the O's!! :)

I actually don't mind the Phillies... I'm a fan of your Big 4 starters, Ryan Howard, Utley, and J-Roll

Sox are 0-6 and start a Home series against the Yanks tomorrow.

I didn't realize that the Red Sox were 0-6, that is something nobody expected. I also looked and saw that the Tampa Bay Rays are 0-6 as well.

Question... who the heck do we root for in the Yankees-Sox series this weekend? I would think we have to hope Boston wins and we keep winning allowing the Yankees to drop a couple games back of us but at the same time as long as we win and the Yankees win it drops the Sox back further and Yankees stay in pace with us. Any ideas?

As long as we handle our business, it doesn't matter who wins, but right now, I'd rather see the Sox take at least 2 out of 3.

"Who needs a 200/300 million dollar payroll, when all we need in Baltimore is just one BUCK!!" Got to love those t-shirts. Yeah it's a great start to the season and feels really good being able to look down and see the Sox sitting at 0-6, I could care less about the Rays at 0-6 as well (defending division champs or not) it's more personal with the Yanks/Sox! By the time Monday comes around I would say the Sox are sitting at 0-9, just hope the O's can get two out of three at least from Texas. Still a LONG season to go, but hopefully the O's can cause some serious drama in the A.L. East this season.

Only problem is Utley's out indefinitely with knee problems. And now heard on SC last night that Brad Lidge will be out until at least the All-Star break with his shoulder. Thank goodness their absences haven't been any problems yet but these two injuries will catch up, I have a feeling...at some point *reaches over and taps on the coffee table (knock on wood)*

WOO HOO go Sox!
