This gets even better. Apparently, Talib is willing to throw his mom under the bus, saying "privately" that his mom was the only one who fired a gun. Even if she's willing to take the fall for her son, that's just amazing. I have rarely been happier to pass on a player. So apparently it was the mom who fired the shots, while Aqib - who was about to pistol whip a guy - suddenly just decides he's stand around with his gun and watch.

Soon we'll find out it was the gun that was firing itself and Aqib was helping him to flee from danger.

Its sad just how far professional sports players can fall sometimes. Examples that come immediately to mind are Maurice Clarett, Pacman Jones, Talib, Eversen Griffin, and several others. These players had world-class physical ability, and may have even played without distraction before the NFL, but all that money/fame goes to your brain too much, and you fall in the gutter. Its just sad.

Momma will almost always take the fall... there are millions of dollars at stake.
Given that, you'd think he'd be a bit smarter, but I guess that's asking too much of a young professional athlete with too much time and money on his hands

This is so sad and pretty pathetic. He is trying to leave his mother to take the fall. But realy and I've no legal training, if you arrive on a scence with a gun and it was his mother who fired the shots, Aqib Tabib is equally guilty, joint enterprise I think is the term. He's getting desperate and I don't think it'll work. The man pissed away a promising career and I feel sad about it

Not trying to defend Okollo or Aqib in any way, but assuming Aqib's sister is around the same age he is (25ish) then his sister's relationship seems pretty weird. She was seeing some 40-year-old sex offender...apparently.

I guess this is what happens when one associates with the so-called gun culture.

The fact still stands that someone fired the weapon, and somebody else was going to use a similar weapon. Both of them should have to serve jail time.

I usually refer to Lifetime as the "battered women" channel as most of the original movies deal with exactly that.


Back on topic, Aqib and his mother should both be in jail.
