Ravens Dave

Preseason 1: Baltimore Ravens At New England Patriots

In assessing the Patriots, I'll ignore the passing game since Brady wasn't starting. But that New England defense needs to shore up its secondary, and LaMont Jordan did well on the ground as I expected.

The Raiders wasted Jordan's talents.

the line really did not give joe much to work with, i want to see him with the 1st team line and receivers

I want to see him with the HEALTHY 1st team line and receivers.

Though, to be honest, if he really expects to grab this starting job by the throat, he has to find ways to impress, no matter what the personnel is on the field.

Granted, I understand that he can't work miracles if he doesn't have the right talent around him, but he has to at least show improvement from tonight.

very true. if boller had started the 4th quarter, he could have had similar results from a shaky O-line and young recievers.

the pocket collapsed so fast on that one play he didn't even have time to throw it away,

who else here hates that referee, he's always doing the ravens games. a lot of those calls were horrible like the one where o'connell threw the ball away in the end zone ,should have been a saftey!

I cringed when I saw it was that guy was the head official for the game...

I believe his name is Jerome Boger...I remember him because he resembles a teacher I once had.

Regardless, his explanations for penalties are HORRIBLE...and for some reason, even though crew members get switched up, it's always HIS crew that seems to make mistakes that end up being made up later with other calls...maybe there's a common thread there...*AHEM*

Wasn't he the same ref that reffed the NE debacle here against NE? Boger that is.

I'm not sure...he may have been one of the officials in that game, but I don't believe he was the head referee. I'm not sure.

I have to think Boller did the best job overall tonight. I think the INT was a result of the TE running the wrong route. He did fumble, though. Luckily we still have 3 more preseason games before we have to make a decision. It's between Boller and Smith. As long as the best guy starts, I'm good with it.

I know it was his first time under center in an NFL arena, playing against other NFL players that don't have black helmets with birds on them, I mean, I know all this... but even so, Flacco didn't look good. At all. He showed me nothing. He's lucky he didn't throw a pick 6 on that quick out. CMac would've taken that garbage to the house.

But, I guess he can only get better from here right?

I almost didn't recognize this team as Kyle was throwing the ball, dare I say, DOWN THE FIELD! It was so much fun to watch, and long past due. I can't wait to see our offense evolve over the next month of practices and games! Now, our main focus needs to be getting all 16 of the guys healthy who didn't make the trip!
