Allen Patrick is impressing me with his initial burst after the handoff on those past two carries...

Though, I wonder what he runs like in 2nd gear...

That on-screen graphic that showed the schedule made me happy, 'cause it reminded me that I'll be 10 rows from the field at the season opener. :)

Flacco's batted pass made me sad, though.

*tisk tisk*

He would've had the tight end in the corner if Allen Patrick had picked up the blitzing linebacker.

Cmon... Our offense is still doing the same thing. Giving it to Stover.. Please score some TDs this season guys.

It's only the first preseason game, so I wouldn't panic just yet.

BUT...I can't wait to see how many people panic TONIGHT or tomorrow about the offense.

I just think its unrealistic expect a guy from Deleware to start in the NFL as a rookie.

strong words, but i think this is a good lesson for Flacco. he still has a lot to learn

We could argue this back-and-forth all night (and believe me, being from Delaware myself, I already have), but at the end of the day, it's up to the coaches and not us to determine whether those expectations are realistic.

Though, I'll agree with you PARTLY on that statement. I think it's unrealistic to expect ANY rookie to start in the NFL at QB and succeed right off the bat.

For every exception like Ben Roethlisberger or Dan Marino, there's a couple of Dave Carr's and Joey Harrington's.

Nice pick by Ronnie Prude, even though it gives the offense worse field position than they would've had if the ball was just batted down.

It looks like he's serious about earning a roster spot ahead of David Pittman and maybe Derrick Martin.

Most rookies don't and I really don't think the coaches expect him to start his rookie year. I am not saying anything negative about Deleware but he certainly wasn't facing opponents with as many NFL prospects as he would have in the Big Ten or SEC so its more of a jump for him than it would be from a guy who went to a bigger program.

Blahhh...I was amped all day, anxiously awaiting Flacco's "big" debut, only to walk away somewhat disappointed.

But, I forgot that Flacco's only a rookie. So...I'll remember not to keep my hopes up like that for the next game. lol.

I think Smith gets the edge tonight too. Unfortunately its not because he did great things. He just didn't F it all up like the other two did. He'll get better the more playing time he gets.

Good D..Touch and Go offense(as usual) but its a win and it's still too early to tell what is what. Good game Coach Harbaugh, congrats on your first win and hopefully lots more to come.
