I'm praying the rain that they're forecasting for the game doesn't kick in until AFTER the game's over...

I'd hate for Joe Flacco's NFL debut to be rained out...plus, every snap this preseason is CRUCIAL for all three QBs, as well as the young guys.

I remember last year's preseason game with the Redskins being rained out in the 3rd quarter...

2 ints, fumble = typical boller

Bannan is going to be a force to be reckoned with, the D is going to be a beast and #1 if healthy

Figurs just secure the ball and run baby...

Troy keep showing the haters you are the truff

I'm noticing a certain trend here, but I won't mention it until later...I need to confirm my suspicions first.

This is looking so like last year. We can't finish off drives

That scares me. I mean, it's one thing to move the ball more efficiently. It's another thing to move it efficiently, only to walk away with 3 points (or none) every time.

The offense can't expect to settle for anything less than a touchdown -- that's the mindset EVERY offense should have.

On a side note, yay! Joe Flacco's warming up!

Everyone on-campus today has been waiting for this moment (to come after Troy Smith checks out). Got a lot of Ravens-related conversations started at work because of my alternate black Joe Flacco jersey... :)

No, something else. We'll say it's somewhat of a positive trend, if you look at it optimistically.

that may have been the last we saw of Smith for this game... not very impressive but he did have some moments. i think he was rushed on that last drive. hopefully Gaither and Terry heal fast...

Man, next week's Baltimore/Minnesota game should be tough on my neighbor, even though it's only a preseason game. On one hand, he's a die-hard Vikings fan. On the other hand, he's also a HUGE Delaware Blue Hens football fan.

So, it's his favorite college QB (Flacco) vs. his favorite NFL team. He doesn't know how to feel about it.

And I thought Philadelphia Eagles fans in Delaware were split...lol.

Smith's performance wasn't that great imo, but he did have some good moments like Forever said. Now I wonder if Flacco can do better than both Smith/Boller in this game.

Even if that was the last we saw of Troy Smith for this game, I thought he did well, especially given the fact that it's the first preseason game.

I felt that Smith did a lot of things right, even with the few mistakes he made. I'm eager to see what he'll do the rest of this preseason.

Unfortunately for Boller, it's almost the same ol', same ol' with him. BUT, I'll give him some credit for showing a little more poise and more confidence in his throws. That could be the key in keeping him alive in this QB competition.

Though, I will say, unless Flacco does worse, Boller might be stuck bringing up the rear in the competition already.

But again, it's only the first preseason game. There's still three games left for the coaches to make a decision.

Amon Gordon (D-lineman, #63) looked REALLY OUT OF SHAPE, trying to chase after Kevin O'Connell on that scramble...

I'm not expecting too much out of Flacco but do expext a couple of darts downfield and hopefully he will get to show his speed/mobility.

If Flacco wants to gain solid ground in this competition, he needs to take advantage of EVERY snap. He can't afford to waste an opportunity if he's looking to get the starting nod in Week 1.

In other words, he really has to WOW everybody.
