DAY 2:NFL DRAFT

7 posts in this topic

What will you expect from the Ravens in Day 2 of the 2007 NFL Draft?

Me, I expect them to get a LB/DE to take AD's place. A fast powerful CB, cause Samari Rolle is starting to not do so great. I would like them to get Troy Smith if they can. Steve McNair teach him some stuff and he could be our franchise QB for the future. I would also like them to get Micheal Bush too. If McGahee gets hurt, he could be the fast back up RB, while Musa is the power back up. Maybe another OL, too, Tackle mainly.

is Samari Rolle really that bad or was Ed Reed caught out of position a couple times and Rolle took the rap? It seems like Rolle intentionally gave up coverage at certain points expecting Reed to be picking up the man..

i couldn't figure out how to edit my previous post, so i might as well continue here:

i should add that I'm not against adding depth at CB either.. just wanted to raise a question about Rolle's performance. He's know C-Mac, but few are.. but is he really as bad as the rep he's getting? I guess on a defense that's so good, anyone less than superstar looks a lot worse.. it's all in who surrounds you.

i dont think it was all rolle's fault. Yes he did get beat but i nthe last few games he only got beat against buffalo. it could have been a big factor with reed being too aggessive, especially with a rookie safety on the other side. there was a big difference in his play at the end of the season, and yes he is one year older now, but the ravens possibly are confident in their cbs for the th time being. If they dont draft a Cb i know they will bring in a few undrafteds to compete

The Ravens D requires much reliability. I'm sure Samari Rolle was relying on safety help. Regardless we must look for killa CBs in the next couple of years. Both Samari and Chris are aging more or less, and Pittman doesn't seem to be panning out. I like Travarous Bain of hampton (1 of 5 pirates invited to the combine). 4.45 40 and shutting down those D-IAA WRs.

Well, David Pittman still has opportunities to show he can step it up. Yes, his rookie year was essentially wasted, but he'll get a few more looks in camp and preseason to see if he can step into the nickelback slot for us.

Frank, Ed Reed got caught with his pants down several times early in the season. He try's to be the game changer on every play and got burned more often than not . If he wants to do that then he needs to communicate better with the other cb's so they won't expect him to be there when he's not. Rolle was a probowl corner for tennessee and can be that good again. I am not saying ed shouldn't take chances , because he can be a game changer( he has proven that) but there needs to be a team effort not just one man.
