R.I.P. Nate Dogg

There was no exact reason why he did but it's believed to be due to health just letting up since he had strokes in both 2007 and 2008.

"It ain't a hit unless Nate Dogg spit" -- truer words in hip-hop were never spoken. I can't name one single with Nate Dogg on it that wasn't even a moderate hit.

He was one of those rare artists who could get by just on providing background vocals. Often, people would remember his choruses more than the actual songs themselves. If not for Nate Dogg's appearance on Warren G's "Regulate," G-Funk may never have taken off and the careers of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mack-10, and other West Coast artists would not have been sustained as the '90s progressed.

I'm contemplating editing all of Nate Dogg's hooks into one massive mash-up.

That would be a great tribute.

I'm saddened to hear of his passing too. His smooth vocals, even on hard-hitting tracks like Eminem's "Till I Collapse", were always top-notch.

Wow that is a shocker. Him, Warren G, and Snoop Dogg created great music for hip hop when the west coast was still pumping out hits. Always sad when you lose a person that helped craft a great form of hip hop back in the day.

Rest easy.

He was a great inspiration to recording artists and you're right Franchise. I don't remember not one song that he was on that wasn't a hit.
