berad, how many marathon runners or sprinters tear acl's. it has everything to do with your quad, hamstrings and calves. there are circumstances with sod or very soft turf that could cause this but that was not the case. we were experiencing a drought and the field was like concrete. oh and who else tore a ligament?? he did not train properly. he was not that good in denver and somehow has become this great corner. he's average to below average and needs to focus on football not his negotiation skills. just watch. biscotti will not forget this. get real son.

It happens. I did track and runners went down every year with ACL injuries, sometimes the other tendons too. They weren't scrubs, either, they were athletes who did all three seasons.

ACL injuries happen all the time, especially in the NFL. Marshall Yanda tore all three major ligaments in his knee, was he out of shape? Lardarius tore his in 2009. Frankly, you don't know what happened so it's difficult for you to indict Foxworth without ANY proof.

Not saying anything about his skill level, he hasn't been on the field for an entire year, but you're entirely off-base about the injury.

berad, read between the lines... "He's spending a lot of time on some of the union stuff, but I know he's also working out, he's training, he's doing great."
So he's training and working out in addition to working with the NFLPA? What's wrong with that? If you're going to take that quote for more than it is, then I don't know what to tell you. I guess they also filmed the moon landing in Hollywood.

wrong.. all those players were injured during contact. not in no contact environments on the first day of training camp. that's not a fluke, it's out of shape. also, you need experience son, high school sports don't count. come back when youve played div I football and baseball.

i think he would have been solid this year if he didn't get hurt, repetition in a Defense is good, still wouldn't mind drafting a big corner though.

Webb was injured blocking on a punt. He planted his foot into the turf and his knee got bent. Same thing that happen to Foxworth.

I'm not buying anything you're giving out. You're just trolling - that's all you're here to do.

Most ACL injuries occur during athletic activity. Often those are non-contact activities with the mechanism of injury usually involving:

* Planting and cutting - the foot is positioned firmly on the ground followed by the leg (and body for that matter) turning one direction or the other. Example: Football or baseball player making a fast cut and changing direction.
* Straight-knee landing - results when the foot strikes the ground with the knee straight. Example: Basketball player coming down after a jump shot or the gymnast landing on a dismount.
* One-step-stop landing with the knee hyperextended - results when the leg abruptly stops while in an over-straightened position.Example: Baseball player sliding into a base with the knee hyperextended with additional force upon hyperextension.
* Pivoting and sudden deceleration resulting from a combination of rapid slowing down and a plant and twist of the foot placing extreme rotation at the knee. Example: Football or soccer player quickly slowing down followed by a quick turn in direction.

wow. beacon, you really got me except for one thing.. it was a Walk Through. there was not athletic activity. what you reference was not what happened. do your homework... "Ravens CB Domonique Foxworth is out for the season after tearing his ACL in a non-contact walk-through drill during Wednesday's practice."

I was not referring to how Foxworth got injured, but your comment that ACL's are from the result of contact. False! I have heard of some people just bending on the wrong angle and can cause the ACL to pop and/or hyper-extend. When someone posts something in response to your post without making snide remarks, can't you show a little class by showing the same respect?

By the way, I took your advice and did my homework. The official transcript of Foxworth's injury reads like this:

CB Domonique Foxworth

On how the injury occurred: "I was just running and tried to change directions – something I've done a million times in my career – and this time it just didn't work. It wasn't anything odd, nothing abnormal. It was on grass, so I can't even blame it on the turf. I guess it happens sometimes."

On whether he knew it was bad right away: "No. I've never had anything more severe than an ankle sprain, so I don't know what it feels like to have anything bad. It happened, and I dove to the ground, because I could feel that it was uncomfortable. It didn't really hurt, and after a few minutes – probably about a minute on the ground – I hopped up and tried to walk it off, which probably wasn't the smartest thing to do. But I could walk, so I felt like if I could walk, I'm good. But that's naïve of me, obviously. I then went inside and I was just trying to be upbeat and optimistic, telling everybody I was going to be OK and I was going to play, and then we got the images done and they told me a different story."

On how long after the injury occurred he finally found out that it was a torn ACL: "Not until we got the MRI, which wasn't until 8:30 or 9 o'clock [last night]. So, I was hoping that I was fine before then."

Additionally, Walk Through Drills are workouts focusing on learning new plays. Team members line up facing the coach, who explains the play in detail. Have the team run the play as described, stopping them to explain discrepancies. After the team perfects the walk-through, coaches have them run the play at full speed. In other words, your not walking. It basically means "no contact".

Looks like someone else needs to do their homework. :229031_rofl:
