I, for one, found it hilarious - especially after he spent all that time bashing his former team.

The funny thing is, I think he has a good chance of becoming a Raven.

He was better on his worst day than McGahee on his best.

Maybe so, but he's going on 36. I don't know too many players that can take a 5-year hiatus from football, especially at that position, and come back to actually contribute. Deion Sanders is the only one that comes to mind, and he was a corner.

That said, though, it's not his ability that makes me not what him - it's his mouth and his personality. He's a passive-aggressive malcontent and I don't think it's merely coincidence that the Giants won a Super Bowl without Barber (and Shockey, for that matter) on the field.

Remains to be seen, but it's not impossible. If anyone can do it, Tiki Barber can. Personally, I like him (met him more than once and he is a very nice person). I shouldn't have to say a word about his play; he left as one of the best. But his antics in his last years and after he left were complete garbage by him. With all of that said, I think he could still contribute.

He'll be lucky to make a practice squad.

Please tell me you're joking. And if you're not, then kindly back that statement up.

That's what happens when you can't keep it wrapped up!

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/nfl/03/08/tiki-barber-unretires/

Thinking with the wrong head will do you in every time. After what happened with NBC I doubt he ever finds a decent paying TV job again and the chances of him making enough to cover his divorce, child support, (4 tiki's) and be able to live a comfortable life aren't very likely.

His best bet is to train like he never did in his entire career before or after, get on a team with a good O-Line and just blow it up. Chances are slim but hey, sometimes the most motivated player is a broke one, no place for him to go but up (maybe).

Barber couldn't make the PS even if he wanted to. It's only for rookie-third year players, I believe.

He's probably a lot better of a player than that, anyways. He can probably be a good 3rd down back in the NFL and, depending on how well he's kept in shape, could handle ~100 carries. Minnesota would be my early guess - they missed Chester Taylor. Maybe TB? He said Ronde made him want to play.

I know he hasn't made any friends in the NFL with his antics.

EDIT: Antonio Pierce slammed him on NFL Live.

Wow, I didn't even realize this...
In April 2010, Barber reportedly left his wife of 11 years, Ginny, for 23-year-old Traci Johnson, a former NBC intern. Ginny was eight months pregnant at the time. Soon after, NBC cited its morals clause and terminated Barber's contract
Just wow. That said, I agree with you. I think his debt was a little more inspiring than Ronde. Fall from grace, indeed.

I wonder who will kick his tires and give him workouts?

On a side note, since Tiki wants to play again, who says we should go try to get JO out of retirement to solve our LT issue?

I'd take Portis over Tiki to tell you the truth. Portis can at least block and pick up blitzes (which we desperately need in a possible McGahee replacement). Tiki, meanwhile, hasn't even worn pads on an NFL field in over 4 years.

I wish there were a way I could have the Ravens with Tiki play your Ravens with Portis. Portis is an overhyped numbskull. He couldn't hold Tiki Barber's jock. haha

I'm sure it's more about money than anything too, but I also think he's had some regrets knowing he left for the wrong reasons.

Rice is a younger, tougher runner. I wouldn't compare him to a 36 y/o Tiki Barber. However, I don't think Rice will last long enough to come close to Tiki's career numbers.

How is Portis over-hyped? His buffoonery has actually overshadowed a stellar career. I've always admired how hard he ran and the tenacity with which he blocked.

I didn't say anything about McGahee, although present day him vs. present day Tiki the edge goes to Willis. Same with present day Rice vs present day Tiki.

How come? It's not as if he's injury prone.

based on what???

Tiki left at the top of his game. Willis hasn't done squat IMO.

No one is comparing him to Rice. Tiki will be a back up/3rd down back. Rice is a starter, but you can say that about a lot of players: 25 year old this one > 35 year old that one. You're not really saying anything there. But at the same time, there are going to be exceptions.

Right now, I would put my $$ on 35 year old Tiki over Willis McGahee of any age.

His yearly numbers and his running style. Plus our division. It's not mean to be a knock on him.
