UPDATED: Hawk is flying back to Green Bay to sign a new 5-year deal, with the financial terms still unknown. Hawk was cut by the Packers to avoid triggering a $10.5 million escalator clause. i would hardly call him a bust, he had a good rookie year, followed by some decent years then a pretty good last season

The Packers will likely re-sign him, as well as Donald Lee and Derrick Martin. All three were cut because of the roster bonuses the team would owe after the CBA deadline tonight. They were all due for contract re-negotiations anyway.

More to do with Nick Barnett's injury woes in recent years, Hawk never lived up to his hype but at least he never misses a game.

Well ya he never lived up to being the #5 pick, but hes a quality MLB, he's not a star in the league like the Packers thought but hes a solid player.

Wow. The organization that just won the SB doesn't know about their own players. That makes a whole bunch of sense.

AJ Hawk is a solid linebacker, I'd love for him to be a Raven. I really cant see why people dont see him as a good player.
