Mount-Cody

Shaun Rogers

I was thinking that if we get Shaun Rogers we will have another run stuffer on our team. Since Kelly Gregg is fading i was thinking we should get another run stuffer. He's a three-time pro bowler and he can help Cody get better. What do you think?

he may need a contender like the ravens to get his competitive juices flowing, i disagree that gregg is fading, he is still solid

Yea, but we can give Kelly Gregg some help.

Right player, right price.

We already have a decent amount of young talent at the DT/NT position.

Kelly Gregg is fading. He isn't as good as he used to be because of age. Terrence Cody has been improving and reportedly been working hard to push for playing minutes next season. I'd rather give him a chance first.

Gregg is definitely fading, to say he is still solid and playing like the Gregg of old is far from being accurate. There are many runs that has happen to the Ravens the last past two years that's not normal for our standards and he has a lot to do with that. I just hope Cody come on with it , forget signing Rodgers even though he plays beastly a lot of times, let's focus on developing our young guys and what better way to develop them than to let them play.

No thanks. Regardless of whether or not Gregg is around next season, I think we'll be fine at defensive tackle. Cody should (hopefully) improve, McKinney's been improving, and Kelly Talavou should be back. They may not be big names like Big Baby, but they'll get the job done.

he is not the gregg of old, but he is still solid, swaping him for rogers is moving sideways
I wouldn't say so. Rodgers is a step better right now. Gregg would provide depth and experience to pass to our youth, but is worth little more nowadays.

his character is not "raven like" anyway, pass

When Morgan Cox tore his ACL in the Browns game, and was still playing on it, he reportedly didn't hit the kid. Pretty admirable, in my opinion. Rodgers gets a bad wrap for some of his off-field "issues" but he's not stomping on anyone's head.

Would I sign him, sure only if he doesn't cost much. I think if Cody goes to NT as the starter having Rogers coming in every once in a while wouldn't be a bad idea.

Of course Kelly is still solid, hell Goose and Adams are still solid but that don't mean they can still play at the NFL level. Kelly has been on this team for a long time and has been great for our team all those years, but it's time to start letting the young guns move up in the ranks. Our defense was one of the oldest(on average) out of the entire NFL. Kelly will always be solid, but Kelly will also have to step aside here real soon.

So it would make sense to you for me to start a thread just to say that Kelly needs to step aside for younger talent. Come on now, no need to get defensive on my opinion.

All I was saying is that our defense is one of the oldest on average in the NFL, and Kelly is an aging vet that has been around the NFL for along time, he isn't a Ray Lewis and seems to get younger every season like Ray does. I never mentioned Cody inparticular, just that our defense needs to start letting some younger talent fill in more. It was brought up about Kelly from the person who started the thread, and that's all I wanted to comment on.

Well I guess it doesn't matter now anyway. Seeing how the Saints picked up Rogers and he also took a two million dollar pay cut. Next subject please!!!

He'll be a good pickup for them.
No doubt and he deserves to be on a team that can compete. The guy was or is still one of the best defensive linemen that plays. Great run stuffer and plug for the middle. Good fit for him, and maybe he will get a shot at a ring now. He damn sure wasn't going to get it playing in Cleveland, well any time soon I mean.
