Kelly Gregg In Crutches?! Are You Kidding Me!?

19 posts in this topic

Thats both starting offensive tackles and now both defensive tackles out with leg injuries, those 4 are the anchors of our respective offensive and defensive units.

*bangs head on desk*

It's still early folks..don't start worrying quite yet. I feel better about these things happening now then in mid to late August.

No need to worry guys. They will be fine, if it was a season threatening injury we would have known about it by now. Sprains, pulls, and brusies are a everyday occurence and crutches are the best thing for all of them. Just keeping the feet off the ground to promote healing. Give them all a couple of weeks to get back on the field.

i hope it isn't serious. if we don't have gregg on the line then we will lose a step on defense.

Ngata and Gaither will be alright in a few days. But Terry and Gregg might be out for a few weeks and that would suck. We don't have a good backup DT and i don't want Kracalik to line up as our RT. Maybe we will move back to:

LT Gaither - LG Brown - C Chester - RG Grubbs - RT Yanda

Oh, i forgot about Cousins. He seems pretty physical.

Man... THIS SUCKS. Hopefully they get better again real soon rather then having to start 3rd string and up guys to their spots.

apparently he participated today... i guess he's going to be ok.

Not all of the news is bad. Wide receiver Demetrius Williams had the brace on his lower left leg removed, and he walked around the practice field with little difficulty. And defensive tackle Kelly Gregg, whose left leg was heavily wrapped yesterday, participated this morning.

this is karma. someone did something unforgivable. It has to be. aren't you supposed to get healthier during the offseason?

I mean, it apears that we are getting better, slowly, but, my goodnes, it seems ridiculous to me that we have so many injuries to key players.

Harbaugh needs to ease up on these guys a little.

What the hell??!!?? Was Billick so soft on these guys that they were slowly turning into glass? Was it so easy that they have become porcelain princesses? I hope they're faking it...and it's somehow to fool AFC North spies. (I dont think we'd keep important people from practicing with the team for cheap foolery, but this is getting rediculous).

For the new Oline IF Terry can't come back healthy I think should be:

LT: Gaithers LG: Grubbs C: Brown RG: Chester RT: Yanda

Cam feels its important for the most experienced guy to be the center and he takes the role as the captain of the O Line. In '06 I remember Chester filling in at RG and doing a pretty decent job for a rookie. For those of you who say Chester can't play and isn't good, I remember him comming in towards the end of the season during '06 when we gave up only 17 sacks ranking 2nd place in the entire NFL behind the Colts at #1. He's a 2nd round pick let him step it up and prove it.

If Chester doesn't perform well in TC or 1st pre-season game:

LT: Gaithers LG: Grubbs C: Brown RG: Clarke RT: Yanda

It is not Harbaugh's fault AT ALL for Adam Terry's injury for wanting a tough TC. I like a tough Training Camp and it makes you battle tested and ready for a hard played game. Coach Vince Lombardi had full contact practices 3 times a day, nuff said. Althought for the future it might be smart for us to make players comming back from surgery who aren't 100% to stretch, work, and rehab the live morning practices and come in to the lighter afternoon pactices. Joints and muscles are stiffer in the morning. Let them sit in ice baths jacuzzi get stretched in the morning (We prolly already did that). He even said he wasn't 100%. He said he was like 90%, but that might have been a stretch to keep a starting position. He was obviously overworking on it and player noticed him limping at the end of many practices. I'd rather let him work on the sideline for the first half of TC and come in late a full 100%. Demertrius Williams wasn't 100% in OTA and repulled his achilles tendon and we've gone 8 days without him (if he was to work out with rookies and injuried Vets if not then 6 days. still a long time to miss). We can't afford any long term injuries on our players just look how we suffered last season. Player want to come in and work their butt's off, but sometimes you have to protect players from themselves. Football players are known for over doing it. But who knows if he went light all of TC maybe it still would have happened in the first game and then we'd be in even worse shape.
