I'm with you there. However, they do encourage you to do assisted pullups w/ a chair.

Oh, I would have anyway. haha. It's a good way to get up to speed quicker.

Second weeks plyo is this evening, actually starting in about 20 minutes....ugh!!

Crazy thing is that I can already see and feel a difference only 8 days in. I actually look forward to a few of the sessions due to how im starting to feel.

I'm actually in week 3, completed my third Plyo workout earlier, so it's day 16. I've noticed that I can actually do several non-girly pushups while doing Chest & Back. I should get some pushup bars though because I have a ganglion cyst in my wrist that limits how far down I can go.

Nicely done JonM for being on week 3....notice any other differences other than the fact you can crank out some "non girly" pushups?

Second round of plyo just completed and now I'm crushing my homemade milk, egg, banana and chocolate shake!

My balance has gotten better. I could do quite a lot of the balancing poses in the second week of Yoga X. I'm also getting some definition in my arms.

Also, I've lost a few pounds. I'm down 13 pounds from the beginning of this year (which started with just diet and Wii Fit) and 33 pounds total. I still haave about 40 pounds to go before I get back down to what I weighed when I worked in landscaping.

I hope I can get Shoulders and Arms done today. I'm working the day shift and then my niece is supposed to be born today, so I have to go visit the hospital when I get home.

33 lbs thus far? Nicely done!! Very rewarding to see results like that, I'm sure.

I've never heard of this. Where can I find out more? And how long per session?
[/quote]

How can you not have heard of P90X??? haha

Side note: Can someone provide a brief rundown of the nutrition plan? Thanks.

I only have the DVDs, but from what I've read your breakdown should be:

Weeks 1-4 Protein 60% Carbs 20% Fat 20%
Weeks 5-8 Protein 40% Carbs 40% Fat 20%
Weeks 9-12 Protein 20% Carbs 60% Fat 20%

Do they provide menu ideas? I'm not a nutritionist and I lack the time and patience to read every single label (although, it looks as though I may have to).

Sidenote: If I stick to Guiness, what do you suppose my allowance would be?

Google it....its all over the place.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/P90X

But, in short, its a 90 day intense (or extreme for "X") workout program that has transformed the bodys of those who have completed it. On day 10 myself....

Yoga X is done for today, and I was actually able to do the side rise for the whole 30 seconds (on the right side, at least.)

So the wife is getting jealous of me losing weight faster than her now and wants to join in on the P90X. I agreed to start over with her, doing the lean program since that's my main reason for doing P90X anyway.

I'll probably restart the Classic program once I'm done to build up some muscles and kick sand in nerds' faces at the beach.

But dam, it gets u jacked. And it helps that the dude doing it is a bit crazy, so it doesn't make it as boring

If it doesn't get here soon, I'm going to freak. Still haven't figured out the best place for the pull up bar yet.

I have no place for one at all so I've been using the bands. Unfortunately, the person demonstrating bands in the videos has the band wrapped around a hook in the goddamn ceiling. So I've resorted to a seated rowing motion with the bands going around my feet.

You have a rowing machine? I love those things. I could never get on a bike or a tread mill in the gym for my 20 minute warm up, but the rowing machine was always available. Came to realize what a great piece of equipment that is.

Still, no pull-up bar = cheating.

No rowing machine, just sitting on the floor with the bands around my feet doing a rowing motion.

I live in an old house and any pull-up bar would probably take down a load-bearing wall without much effort.

I've heard some good things about this so far.

I go to the gym on my own but don't really have any organizational trend. I think this is a good way to keep a schedule instead of being sporadic.

Being a college student it's hard not to resist junk food, but I'm going to definitely try it out. I'm visiting a couple of my friends in Florida in a couple of months so I definitely want to look good in front of the Florida girls. That's motivation enough haha.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Walmart, Sports Authority, and D!cks all have them for less than $30.
