Sergio Kindle Radio Interview

18 posts in this topic

A WNST radio interview with Sergio, its tough to tell exactly but I remember one thing that he struggled with was oral information processing in the brain from hearing something, processing it all and formulating specific responses whether it be verbal or physical. So what do you think, how does he sound?
I think at the very least he realizes he did this to himself and holds himself accountable, and got rid of his twitter account for good lol.

Sounds like he's on the phone. That means there could be a slight delay plus it's hard to hear on the phone, sometimes (I hate talking on the phone). He sounds fine to me, not any noticeable difference.

And glad that he takes responsibility and deleted his twitter. Nothing good has come out of a professional athlete using that thing or, more precisely, the bad outweighs the good by far.

He's still very hopeful and pretty confident that he'll be cleared. I hope so - it's a shame, otherwise.

His seeming confidence in returning is encouraging but there are still a lot of question marks.

He didn't appear to have a problem answering the questions so I'm not sure what people were talking about. Getting rid of his Twitter account was a good move.

Ya I'm optimistically caution with Kindle ever returning to the field, but it was an important step for him to recognize that he did this all to himself and tries to correct that. Hopefully he goes the Ray Lewis route and learns who he can and can't hang out with anymore, and surrounds himself with people who are supportive to him without any distractions.

Or maybe just a car breathalyzer?

I love Kindle's potential and was excited when he dropped to us but we knew the risk we were taking with both his knee issue (thought you forgot, huh?) and his questionable past decisions. Plenty of players learn and make a positive change but, on the other hand, some stay the same. Hopefully Sergio is in the former.

lol I had a buddy who used to have one of those breathalyzers, needed to blow into it before the car even starter. I thought he just had left knee scoped a couple of times, which is beyond minor surgery?

Around draft time a lot of teams were scared off by the knee, they thought he might have needed microfracture surgery - I just remember that being the talk of the day. He also takes medication for ADD and narcolepsy and, to those who don't understand it, that raises a red flag.

So if he's not cleared to play this year does that mean we'll get a compensated 2nd round pick for him not being able to play in the NFL? I mean it's like a completely wasted pick otherwise or like we never even got anything for giving away our first round pick. Just some thought on that.

No way in hell we get a compensatory pick. If he can't go, we don't get squat.

I was following the draft on my computer and almost choked when we traded down. Why didn't we draft a CB, OL, or WR? We lost our 1st rounder and what did we get? An overweight Cody and Kindle who will never play in the NFL. Just think about it, we could have had Tebow at pick 25 as Flacco's backup. Or we could have taken Dan Williams (NT) who went at pick 26. We probably should have taken CB Devin McCourty who went at pick 27. What about the Dolphins' pick at 28 Jared Odick? Even Patrick Robinson (Saints) who went on the last pick in the 1st round would have been better than what we ended up with by trading down. After the 2010 draft, I no longer think of Ozzie as a draft day genius. Now, I see that he needs to learn from his mistakes and take the best player available when we draft in the first round.

Its easy to say that now when we know what happened. Cody didn't blow up in weight, he's continually kept it down since we drafted him, Kindle was a top 15 talent before he fell. We also got Dickson out of the deal our future TE. The trade when it was made was a great trade. I'd still take the deal we got instead of Patrick Peterson, Odrick played like 4 games before he was put on IR and personally though he was more highly touted than his play warranted.

Edit- I just noticed, Tim Tebow are you kidding? A) why take a backup QB in the first round, and a QB who has to re-learn his fundamentals as a QB, and B ) Tebow...really

You're faulting Ozzie for not predicting that Kindle would fracture his skull in the offseason? He traded down because we got a ton of value from the desperate Broncos; they gave us their second, third, and fourth rounders. Those picks equated to Kindle, Dickson, and Pitta - how about we wait more than one season before we make absolute judgement on young players?

What sense would drafting Tebow have made?

Robinson collected 28 tackles and 2 pass breakups for the Saints, so I'm not sure how you know he would have been better here.

I'd refrain from forming an opinion on a draft after just one season.

I can't comment on Patrick Robinson, since I haven't seen him in action with the Saints, but Tim Tebow would've been a complete waste of a pick. The Cardinals were 30th in Rush Defense, so I'm not sure how much Dan Williams was of any assistance. Odrick broke his foot after the first game and missed the remainder of the Season. It's easy to go back now and ponder why McCourty wasn't selected. I'm sure that the Bengals are wondering why they drafted Andre Smith when Michael Oher was still on the board. So how did Ozzie make a mistake? He took a Top 15 talent in the 2nd Round, whose stock only fell because of concerns about his knee. Since his knee was never an issue after the Draft, Ozzie definitely made the right decision. And the organization is apparently pretty high on Cody. To quote DeCosta, "He finished the season very strong for us and made some big plays, particularly in that Chiefs game and we’re very excited to see what he can do next year," he said. Instead of drafting a CB in the 1st, we traded for a quality CB with mere a 5th Rounder. In my opinion, Ozzie played his cards pretty damn well.
