Watching the NBA all star weekend and listening to Charles Barkley blab on about how the NBA does the best job to show case its best athletes, I got to thinking what if the NFL held kicking or punting competitions, or QB's could test their arm strengths or accuracies.

What do you guys think?

They should bring back the Skills Challenge. The game itself has become unbearable though; the only thing that can be done now is to elimate it but the ratings will prevent that from happening. Even if it's trash, people watch anything to do with NFL football.

would like to see a skills challenge, have the quaterback challenge come back plus some catching games for WR/CB/S and some other fun stuff. I would watch it

Well, in that case, they should bring it back. I was re-runs of it a few weeks ago, when it was Pro Bowl time, and saw Ed Reed run the obstacle course faster than the other players that tried it. Typical Ed.

I tend to lean in favor of more of a skills competition for the Pro Bowl week, as it could help the selected players fine-tune their skills for the game itself.

The skills competition was more fun than the game.

Loved seeing Tony Gonzales cry about how hard the football throwing machine was and that he had to stop the quick catch drill because he was afraid of getting hurt. haha.

Skills challenge is much better than the pro bowl itself. Fans want answers to their questions. Who throws the farthest, who can lift the most, who's the fastest. Its not the end all answer of course. But its fun for the fans to use it in their discussions.

Totally agree. I love when they do the college kids/Pro prospects skills challenges.
