Agree. The point I was trying to make is I don't always think it's the players. I think its the handlers.

I agree. The minor league coaches will have a huge impact on whether or not a prospect is going to become a key contributor to the big club.

so, whats the Over/Under on Weiters homeruns next year? I'm thinking 25-28. He has shortend his loopy swing and starting to show a approach!

Wieters should have no problem hitting 25 bombs next year... I'd like to see his batting average get closer to .285-.290 as well.

If he becomes a .275-.285 hitter with 25+HR's 75-90 RBI's and outstanding defense...You wont see me complain! That's not exactly "Jesus in Cleats" numbers but VERY GOOD, non the less. The kid is still growing into his frame. He's certainly bigger then when he first came up but He's got room for more weight on that frame for sure!

Yeah, but having those number along with Gold Glove-caliber defense is extraordinary.

Yea, though I don't think he'll be a catcher for more then 3-4 more years.
Why do you think that? Just curious what you're thinkin'.

I understand what you're saying, but I think the O's have been careful enough with Wieters that he shouldn't wear down that quickly.

With win over Red Sox, Orioles avoid 100-loss season

With a 6-5 win Monday afternoon in the first game of a day-night doubleheader at Fenway Park, the Orioles secured their 63rd victory of 2011 -- meaning they could lose their final 10 and still avoid the ignominy of 100 losses.

The Orioles (63-89) have lost 100 or more twice in their modern-day history: the inaugural 1954 season and in 1988, when they began 0-21.

A few more wins could make the season a pinch more successful.

I became so disconnected from this team that I didn't even know about Gonzalez being traded until a couple of nights ago lol.

Why would Angelos want to get a higher draft pick? He appears to be very content bottom feeding.

Good point...

Matusz is some kind of terrible.
Yeah i don't understand what is with the Orioles and their pitching. I swear Matusz, Tillman, Arrieta, and Britton were all highly regarded and supposed to be our "rotation of the future". While i know they are still learning and all that, the only one that has somewhat impressed me was Britton, and that was the way he started the season. I don't know, maybe thats just me.

Oh and btw FerrariFan, dont feel bad about being disconnected from the O's. I knew Gonzalez only because i get the texts. I havent watched a single Orioles game all year, from start to finish. I've watched a lot of games, for a few innings. But havent sat down and actually watched the whole thing. Thats a first for me, and i believe until we actually do something that will help us improve, it'll stay that way for me over the next couple years, sadly.

Congratulations to Vlad Guerrero!! Just became all time hits leader for a Dominican born player, and he stole a base too!
