Ravens Uniform Idea.

I think it would be a neat idea to have maybe a purple helmet or something that we wear once or twice a year, Like the steelers with the yellow helments I think they look pretty neat.

black is a power color! i'd like to see:

-Black on Black at home
-Purple on Black as an alternate home
-White on Black away
-Black on White away

I like the current uniforms and hope they dont change the uniforms. I think changing uniforms right now would be silly because we have the sickest uniforms in the NFL right now!!!

My issues with making black the primary color:

1) The Steelers already wear black as their primary jersey.
2) Almost every team in the NFL has a black jersey, either as an alternate or as a primary.

I understand wanting to look intimidating and all that, but I prefer for the team to have its own identity rather than assume someone else's. That's why the team has mostly worn purple during games against division rivals whenever possible.

Our jerseys are fine as long as we stop wearing black pants with our white jerseys. That is an awful look.

The Raven's wearing black has nothing to do with any other teams colors. Hell you can say that the Vikings and Prince wear purple so the Ravens must be copying the Viking and Prince. The Raven bird is black so why not wear black although I'm ok with the occasional wearing of all black instead of it being the primary color.
As far as being original I think most uniforms will change in 2012.

Can't really use that argument. Not many Eagles are green, Jaguars are teal, Panthers are cyan, Buffalo are blue, etc etc etc...

I can use whatever I like as an argument, for it is my point of view. Could careless about teal Jaguars, green Eagles, cyan Panthers, red Buffalo or green Packers. Purple Ravens now that is a different story, love those guys!

Oh of course the steelers ugly unis will make it...its about the tradition of the black and gold. blah blah BLAH

I think it would be cool if when we play in one of those throwback games, where the other team wears a retro jersey, since we don't really have a retro jersey, we would just wear all black... But I am talking about taking all black to a seriously new level...

Like, no logo on the helmet. It's just plain black, without any stripes or talons, just, all black, kinda like Notre Dame's golden dome but black.

And then the jerseys and pants would also just be all black, completely devoid of logos or nameplates. I guess there would have to be some numbers in there, I guess they could be purple... And maybe a small purple trim band on the edge of the sleeves and that is it. The idea would be to mimic the coloring of an actual raven, and the numbers could be like some sort of iridescent dark purple that you would get when the sun hits something all black like a raven.
The end result, I think, would be a pretty revolutionary jersey concept forged of complete simplicity, and we'd probably win lots of Skinny Puppy fans over to our team in the process.

I think the shield on the helmet would be the best way to go. It represents Baltimore and Maryland! Throw up a flag!! The chopped off bird head is cartoonish and gimmicky. IMO the black helmet puple jersey and white pants is an awful look. I like the look of the black jersey and the white jersey, with black or white pants in any combination. If we could just get rid of that cartoon looking bird head on the helmet everything else would be alright. Just dont lose the shield.

How different are they from the current ones? There are some minor differences but it's mostly just the logo on the sleeve. I wouldn't expect any huge changes.

I'm curious - do you think the league would let us getting away with wearing the old Colts uniforms as our throwbacks? I mean, I know TECHNICALLY Irsay took the history and everything with them to Indy, and really this is just a pipe dream, but it would greatly help my ability to imagine Joe as Johnny U.
