Wow some big moves from a small team. How long till the word gets out in Ravens talk to Pick up Rodgers?

They should have traded them all for Carson Palmer.

*snicker*

OT - Bengals fans apparently want him to retire.

New coach, new regime. Don't know if Rogers is looking for a lot of money - if he is, he won't be here - but he's an excellent 3-4 NT.

None of the other Browns are really noteworthy, they wouldn't fit.

Seems like really small moves with the exception of Rogers who is a notable name. Rogers will find a home somewhere with a team looking for a 3-4 Nose Tackle. I expect the Texans to be thinking about picking him up since they are switching to the 3-4 and he could be a stop gap for them but some team will sign him.

What sucks was as good of a person he was this year too. He played well when he could and if you remember how he helped out Cox. Terrible he has been labeled with injury problems and fired. I hope for him the best

Well I don't know how good of person he really was this year. Sure he helped out Cox but he did get arrested for carrying a loaded weapon at the airport.

Rogers is the best 34 pass rushing NT in the entire league, he'd increase the pocket collapsing rate 10 fold. But 'tis a pipe dream.

Agreed. I'd be all for going after Big Baby but Cody needs all the reps he can handle.

Yep. haha

That Cox story was pretty telling about Rodgers. Seems like he does have a soft heart.

I think we're going to have cap room to pick up a moderate to somewhat expensive free agent, even after the Ngata tagging/resigning.I've been hoping we go after Mankins and/or Kiwanuka, since Nnamdi is pretty much out of the question. But Rogers would be friggin' insane; him and Ngata side by side would be brutal...and I dont think Rogers is as far fetched as many may think. Remember, Gaither is still a long shot to be resigned, Fabian wont be back, Willis might be gone, as well as LeRon, and TJ, Wilson and Carr are no longer under contract. Thats a lot of money coming off the books, even assuming both Wilson and/or Carr is brought back.In a perfect world, we pick up Rogers and Kiwanuka, and we could then reload on offense via the draft, getting guys like Baldwin, Ijalana, O'Dowd.Lock it up Oz!

Cody=Work In progress
Rogers=Work of Art

But it's all about the benjamins baby.....

Let's not go overboard. A big reason Rogers is being let go is because the Browns feel he's expendable. Ahtyba Rubin took his job in training camp and never looked back.

I feel we drafted Cody for an immediate impact to replace the aging Kelly Gregg. That wasn't the case. Shaun Rogers would be a good fit for us in most cases but he isn't the top of the list. Cody needs to get his weight under control to be a starter on this team.

Getting hurt in pre-season and having surgery put Cody behind the eight ball somewhat. We saw glimpses of what he could do throughout the season. There's no reason he can't step up and be the starting NT next season.

I definitely agree he needs to lose some weight though, and add some muscle too.

If he gets his weight down, we all saw his college tape, this kid will be a monster. Kind of why I want us to get a 5 technique DE, just so we can lock down our front 3

Indeed. The team seems to like Jones and Redding is under contract but there are too many good 3-4 DEs in the draft this year not to take one.

Rogers and Cody don't exactly have the best stamina in the world, so a rotation of the 2 would work wonders. (Cody more heavily involved against the run, Rogers against the pass)

Now, if Cameron Jordan would just do something stupid to obliterate his draft stock.

Rogers doesn't eat blocks, he eats a lot but he doesn't eat blocks. He prfers to play single gap and plays more like a strong 4-3 UT. Could he play DE? possibly, but Bowens emerged last year as the best player from that group.

Shaun Rogers has 1 team going after him already and could visit that team tomorrow. Since Rogers was cut from the team he doesn't have to wait for a new agreement and can be signed immediately and the Redskins are the first team wanting to look at him.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/10/shaun-rogers-may-visit-the-redskins/
Jay Glazer of FOX reports that Rogers has spoken with Washington and could set up a visit with the team, perhaps as early as tomorrow.
The Skins do need a True 3-4 NT so this could be a great pickup for the Skins.

*Smacks Head*

Who else had the Redskins as interested? (Entire room raises hands).
You think Rogers will like doing the condition tests over and over like Haynesworth did? lol. I think the Texans should go after him because they need a nose tackle switching to the 3-4, and I think he could be pretty good in a 4-3 as well so maybe a 4-3 team could get him.
