Romo Ravens

Life After The Super Bowl

14 posts in this topic

I know, I know. I'm tired of these threads too, but how about just one more.

A couple of weeks ago, Franny said that the Ravens FO could wait it out instead of making any drastic changes resulting from high emotions. Now that the offseason has officially started, let's say a new CBA is agreed upon and everything is fine with the NFL. Could we still seek other options or promote someone within for our OC position, and is there still a chance that Cameron could be shown the door, or will the nightmare continue next season? What are the chances, no matter what's been said since our season ended, that Cam Cameron is fired?

Does our OC still have life after the Super Bowl?

Unfortunately we will be stuck with Cam next season. The new CBA isn't done so there still exists the possibility that there won't be OTAs or training camp to give us time to install a new offense. I don't think Cam knows what he's doing, and I really don't want him hanging around another year to continue to impede the evolution of our offense, but it's really the only option at this point. A terrible offense with a bad play caller is better than an offense that hasn't been practiced and fully implemented.

Hopefully we'll be rid of Cam after next season, but we're stuck with him for the time being.

Remember when everyone thought Jeff Fisher was safe after they announced VY would be leaving? Cam will most likely stay as OC but nothing is impossible/improbable.

I've thought about this as well and you are right that a change can still be made if the CBA is settled early. With that said, I feel the FO office will stay the course with Cam. At this point, who do you bring in that has better credentials to replace him? I'm struggling to think of anyone. They could promote someone from another team or from the college ranks but, I feel that's more of a last resort thing.

No, I think they have a sit down, if they haven't already, and outline exactly what they want to see out of the offense next season. I have no doubt, if this is the case, that they will hold him accountable for the progression of the offense with him knowing that he has no other option but to make it happen. In addition, this is where I feel Harbs' involvement in in the offense comes in. He is there to offer his support and input, overseeing that the best adjustments are being made to move the offense in the right direction, IMO.

The decision has been made. Like Rav stated, the FO will stay the course with the path they've decided upon. Nothing changes.

People need to give up hope that Cam will magically be gone before next season.

And if the team advances to the Super Bowl next year Cameron will be labeled a genius and all complaining will cease.

Cam's taking a more hands on approach with the offense next year, especially with flacco....hopefully the two can finally get on the same page. This is most likely gonna be the year where cam will keep or lose his job in the long run.

Only way Cam goes is if Harbaugh goes since he is loyal to his friends. Cam will be back. Right now I'm putting the offense not only on Cameron, but Harbaugh too. If they succeed they both get credit and if they fail..then the BOTH of them get faulted.

Many thought we had a perfect offseason last year, and look what good that did us

There were only major issues in the off-season and both of them were unforeseen.

The city is still showing full support! (Not sure where to post this and I'm certainly not the type to start a new pointless topic just for a picture).

Those that are not local to Baltimore, this is in the Towson area near the Court House.....damn traffic ticket!
