Haha maybe just better than Jones, then? Would you put Jones above Ngata, Gregg, McKinney, Redding, Kruger, or Cody? Only so many spots for DL on gameday. Divens and Jones played two games, each, so I guess they're interchangeable.
honestly, I would have given McKinney's playing time to Jones, just because we know that McK isnt very good and we dont know what Jones is about yet...and if we're sticking with the 3-4, then let Jones cut into Kruger's playing time as well, cuz the 3-4 will be the death of Kruger's career as an DE.

Cautiously optimistic about Jones

I agree Arthur Jones is a good player and just needs more snaps. With the upcoming 2011-12 football
season and the new 18 game schedule, not only will he get more snaps but w/ the increased active\
roster, he should be able to be active for more games, thus getting more snaps.

Sounds good! Cory Redding came on late, and Paul Kruger was somewhat solid, but i would like to see what Arthur Jones can bring to the table.

I like Talavou as well, he isn't just another fatty, he has that dense rhino like build Ngata possesses. Also I wouldn't knock McKinney, he's not as powerful as most nose tackles his size but he's one of the better technicians and run stoppers on our team.

Talavou doesn't project well as a 3-4 DE. He is a NT and we already have Cody.

Although, I do think Talavou could be a good NT as well.

Cody is monster person of flesh.... o.O
As long as Jones is willing to work extra hard to take that spot from Redding... Chadwiick is happy....

Maybe he'll give you his address :P he was on IR all last season, which wasn't great for him. He's a huge load, though, maybe similar to Kemoeatu when we had him? I also find it funny that we have two "Kelly" DTs
He never called me back. The number he gave me was disconnected. Maybe there is a hint in there.

Wouldn't it make more sense to give Jones an opportunity(assuming he earns it), seeing as the coaches know McKinney is better depth than he is starting material?

Yeah that would make sense. Jones has a much higher upside than Mckinney especially considering the lack of a strong presence at DE.
