Would The Ravens Have Won Today?

41 posts in this topic

As to not terribly tangent the question Milton stated in the "other NFL teams" section.

Would the Ravens have won today?

I personally dont think so. Green Bay brought their A game no doubt. I have a hunch had the Ravens been there they would have suffered their usual third quarter burn out.

I dont know for sure, obviously, but it would have been a huge battle none the less, but I dont think we would have pulled it off.

Next year on the other hand...

If the "first half Ravens" show up for 60 minutes we would win every game. Big if though.

(And let me be the first to say the Steelers lost. So we DID win.)

I dunno....maybe because the Packers have been playing bad 2nd halfs.

But I am amazed that the steelers turned the ball over 3 times and the Packers got 3 TDs off those turnovers (while having no turnovers themselves) and the steelers almost came back. Again!!

Any given Sunday.

But the Pack was able to beat Philly, Atlanta, Chicago (all on the road) and the Steelers. All of those teams had different strengths. Atlanta was probably the most complete team they faced. They defeated great defenses and great offenses. Doubt we would've won, but any given Sunday.

Its a game of inches and if they play in your favor, you'll reap big benefits.

Joe Flacco is no Big Ben so I think we would of lost.
[/quote]

I'd say that's a good thing, given what Big Ben is. Next to Eli Manning, he's probably the most overrated quarterback in the NFL. In all reality, he's been carried by his defense a lot, especially for his first Super Bowl, and is a lot more lucky than good. His backyard style of football is not one I would want to root for at the quarterback position.

In all honesty, we really don't know what Flacco is capable of because he's been held back and hasn't really had the game put on his shoulders for an entire sixty minutes (fourth quarter drives to win the game are not the same thing). When you look at the championship caliber teams, the Packers, the Pats, the Colts, and even the Steelers, they put the game in their quarterback's hands every game. Until we give Joe the chance to do that and be the guy, we won't really know what he's made of.

Big Ben also extends plays. I think Green Bay would of gave Joe a lot of problems and I just don't believe we would of had them beat.

We will never know and at this point it is irrevelevant but the stairway to seven is on hold for another year.

We would have got up 18 points in the first half and we would have been comfortable with that lead. Then in the second half, we'd start to panic and not know what to do and wonder how we could have possibly lost without taking more shots at the endzone with the WR's we had.

We focus on our D-line, with Ngata,Suggs,Cody, etc. With us having a "backup" secondary ie. Carr,Webb, and how Aaron Rodgers is a field stretching type QB, he would have a field day with how GB's O-line has played throughout most of the game.. Just imo..

big ben. IMO is the most clutch QB in the nfl. but would the ravens win today? sure.
i believe the ravens can beat any team in the NFL. that being said. if they gave the ball up 3 times it might not be close.
but with no turn overs the pack would probably win by 3 cause i think their just better over all. but if the ravens gets turn overs and dont turn over the football they probably win by 3. but like others say. we will never know =/

Clay Matthews would have had a field day against our offensive line. This team needs to fix some areas before they can be Super Bowl bound

Pittsburgh is far more complete than Atlanta is. Atlanta's D is doo doo

You're right about that, especially when Matthews spent most of the game spying Ben for the scramble. He didn't rush near as much as he would have against us.

Well personally I think Flacco would have played better than Ben but we still would have lost. Aaron Rodgers and their receivers would have outplayed us.

You are wrong, the ravens would have beat the Packers. And the reason would have been the throwing game with to many weapons and to much ray rice.

Yeah. If we made it we would have been playing 60mins against the steelers and the pats/jets. Therefore continuing da streak against greenbay.

I dont think we would have beat Rodgers and Green Bay.

But the Squeelers had 3 turnovers and still almost came back and won that game
so would the Steelers have won if they didnt have the turnovers?

The answer is yes.

ravens probably wouldn't have won. we don't utilize our players strengths. plus those key injuries may not have happened. furthermore, our o line wouldn't have faired well against gb's front 7 imo

I probably should have said balanced. Falcons have a good balanced team, neither a great offense or defense. Steelers thrive more on their defense.

Ok, We knew this was going to happen. Who knows if the Ravens win, they could have. The big surprise was seeing the fans "bulldog" down in big D wearing a Steelers shirt???

Big ben is far from lucky and overrated...A man of his size that can escape pocket pressure and run for big yardage plus hit his receivers regularly is one of the elite QB's in the league...Even though he is a Steeler i have to give him his due.
