Bullied Kid

If you haven't seen this video, I highly recommend it.

Essentially, a news story has been circulating about a young kid in PA, Nadin Khoury, who was assaulted by a gang of teenagers who (stupidly) filmed the incident and (even more stupidly) posted it online. It's become a national story because of the violence captured in the video as well as the victim's response, he's been trying to raise awareness of bullying ever since.

Recently, he was on "The View", telling his story, when he was surprised. DeSean Jackson, Todd Herremans, and Jamal Jackson of the Eagles (his favorite team) came out from backstage to give him their support as well as some material gifts - including family tickets to any Eagles game next season. You could see the emotion on Khoury's face, he started crying as soon as he saw DeSean.

Whether or not you like Jacksons' boast-ful/disrespectful antics on the field, this was a genuine show of compassion and class. Call it sappy, but the NFL needs more stories like this. These players do so much good through charity and other events that often go unnoticed. Good show, DeSean, and kudos to the other players and the Eagles organization, as a whole.

*You can also search the video of the bullying incident. The bullies got escorted out of their school in handcuffs and were so shamed that they had to blur their faces - the best part.

Like I said in another forum, I can no longer hate Desean Jackson, I had no idea he was such a good dude, and I was blown away by this.

Much respect for DeSean Jackson and the other two Eagles players... that poor kid, I hope the judge throws the book at those bullies.

Touching story.

It's really sad that the victim and his mother have had to move because they were threatened. There's no justification for what happened to the kid and people continuing to threaten him and his family is just despicable.

I'm guessing the victim and his family have been labeled "snitches".

The article said he was randomly selected and beaten for 30 minutes by teenagers. So, the Mother reports it and the "adults" in that community think she's a snitch? Moving is a no brainer. Glad the kid got the support he did. Hopefully that means some semblance of normal development for him.

Poor journalism on Yahoo's part. The Fox Philly article that is linked in Yahoo's article mentioned the victim has been bullied before and the cowards that did it have juvenile records.

The middle school telling him not to return was likely another reason they've moved.

I don't see how anyone could label them "snitches" when the idiot bullies posted the video themselves!! This most likely would have been neglected like the tons of other cases that go unpunished had they not posted the video.

Videos of bullying are posted all the time. That the victim's family brought it to the attention of authorities and the bullies were arrested is likely why they were threatened.

I wonder if witness intimidation is as bad in Philly as it is in Baltimore. I was living in Florida when the whole "Stop Snitchin" video came out. I only found out about it after reading an article in The New Yorker about how bad things were.

Yeah, I used to read The New Yorker. Wanna fight about it?

One good deed doesn't undue a history of bone-headed, arrogant actions. I don't like the guy. Anice gesture but I look at these things as a publicity stunt.

Desean Jackson has never really bothered me. Never had an opinion either way but I love when the athletes give back to the community, especially to children.

His antics on the field are fine by me. I think some of you forget that they are playing a child's game for money; for our entertainment, which would make them ENTERTAINERS!

Great find though. Hopefully those bullies get tossed around in jail.

Also, I can see Desean having bullying problems when he was younger. Totally fits his behavior now. Plus he was probably 50 pounds soaking wet when the other kids were like 120.

I don't buy it, sounds like a PR move to me.
All that matters is that it made Nadin's day...you can speculate if DeSean was sincere or not all you want but at the end of the day, it brought happiness to a kid who was picked on and assaulted.

I agree. I never thought that Desean was an inherently bad person. Maybe he gets the bad rap cuz he kinda acts like a TO or a Chad, but those two aren't bad people either. I feel that they'd do an appearance like this if the kid was a Bengals fan.

But how you gonna criticize a person based on how he acts in a GAME?

I think for the most part athletes are decent people away from their sport but then again you have an Albert Haynesworth going road rage on another motorist.

Classy. Totally classy.

I am now an Eagles fan too.

Can some one help me with a link for the original bullying video?
