Carr or Yanda.
Actually since Gaither and Ngata could both be considered "hard contracts" I wouldn't be surprised that Yanda and Carr are the next two guys signed taking all the easy contracts out of the way leaving us with the 2 hard contracts of Gaither and Ngata.

Cundiff and Koch were instrumental parts in helping the defense since opposing offenses had to go the length of the field if they wanted to score. They are highly valuable commodities and good to see them solidify our special teams for the next 5 years. They are arguably equally as important as adding youth and talent into the defense because of how much leverage they give the defense.

So who's the one on here who said that Kock would get signed shortly after Cundiff got locked up? lol Good call by them.

Freudian slip? :P

And hopefully it's the same guy who said we'd sign Ngata, Yanda, Gaither, Carr, Wilson, and McClain for peanuts.

EDIT: I'd just like to add that I want to rephrase my wording of this event from "good" to "great" news! I was a little sad to see Zastudil go after the '05 season, he was a great punter, too. Koch, though, is just as good if not better. It's a huge benefit to have him for five more years.

Errr.... no. No, I don't know what you're talking about! I said Koch, see?

Honestly, I want to say it was Franny.

Yes! There is light at the end of the tunnel. Koch and Cundiff are the best, although I felt Stover should have won the NFL Network Player's Dance-Off with the magic of his kicking stance alone!

Stover was the man. I ran into him the day the team honored the 2000-2001 Championship Team. He stops in the hallway huffing, puffing and holding his side after taking the stairs to Mr. Modell's suite. I told him, "Come on man, your not that old". "It's rough", He said laughing.

5 more years of "Are you sure it's pronounced 'cook'?"
He's right. it's pronounced Cook.

I never make no missteaks, remmember? -_-

Only in Baltimore do we appreciate special teamers just as much as offensive and defensive players. Baltimore is a true football town for this very reason. It's pretty telling when Cundiff and Koch have both been quoted as being incredulous at the love they receive here.

How does it feel to be an MVP punter on a weak offense? He was by far the best player we had last year minus Ed REED.

Carr can wait. Yanda is a top priority.
True, however I just get the feeling that Carr won't have a fill of options regarding other teams interested, I don't think his financial demands will be high, so I'm sensing that the Ravens could iron out a contract for him soon.

We definitely need him, and I would be surprised and angry if he was to walk, which is unlikely IMO.

I hope you're right. Another two-year deal would be perfect in my opinion.

YES!! This has been a great couple weeks for us. First Cundiff, we are talking with Gaither and now Koch is under a 5 year contract. We paid Cundiff $15 Million for a 5 year deal, so it should be interesting to see what we pay Koch.

Next: Re-Sign Gaither!
Koch should definitely be getting paid more. He's been here longer than Cundiff, and has been much better for much longer than Cundiff has.

For all we know, Koch's holding is the reason Cundiff didn't miss too many FGs this year(yes, there was that one horrible miscue in the regular season).

And to be honest, we never really even tested Cundiff this season. We routinely would punt the ball rather than go for longer field goals. We didn't even try for the game winning FG against the Steelers at home. Instead, we decided to go for it on 4th down.

This worried me if it came down to a field goal in the playoffs... because we never really tested Cundiff.

I guess I'm just hoping Cundiff doesn't let his 1 good season go to his head, and he continues to work hard. He looked to have a much harder time kicking touchbacks once the weather got cold.

That's pretty common for all kickers, but I hear what you're saying.

Cundiff also has more responsibilities than Koch, that's just the way it is.

Didn't see contract details on here, but they're there. 5 yrs worth a total of 11.5mil, including 2 mil in signing bonus. Nice to see them pay a guy according to his talent and worth to the team (ST was a BIG part of our success), without overpaying a guy that doesn't step on the field much.
