YES!! This has been a great couple weeks for us. First Cundiff, we are talking with Gaither and now Koch is under a 5 year contract. We paid Cundiff $15 Million for a 5 year deal, so it should be interesting to see what we pay Koch.

Next: Re-Sign Gaither!

We got the easy ones done. Koch is superman. Good guy to have locked up for a while.

Now we need to get him in the game more! LB, SS, OL. I'm sure he can handle it.

Back-up QB? He has a 100% completion rate! lol

Nice to have this done. Now, could we do something with Ngata other than tag him? That tag thing makes me very nervous with vulture Rex sniffin' around.

How come we can sign guys like Koch to long term deals but with Ngata they say we have no choice but to tag him? Physically it should be possible for us to re-sign Ngata right now, there's nothing legally that would keep us from doing so. I'd assume it's more cap related (not enough money or whatever).

Anyway I'm happy we got this done. Koch is the best punter in the league and he's been playing for "pennies" the past few years compared to what other great punters made. On to Gaither now.

Because Koch's deal is chump change compared to what Ngata's going to get.

Easy contracts. Both sides agree early, players want to be here, org wants them here. Ngata's deal will be more complex. Examining precedents, how much guaranteed money, incentives. Can take a little while before both sides meet in the middle.

As for the Kickers, you show them we appreciate what they do. Give them long contracts, they sign.

You're comparing a punter to arguably the best defensive lineman in the league. It's going to be a heftier contract so it's going to take a while longer.

I realize that, I'm not comparing anything. The question was more can we technically re-sign Ngata and the answer is yes. I realize it's very complicated because of how good he is and how much money is at stake. But people were acting like the lack of a CBA deal keeps us from doing so, like we're not allowed to re-sign him, tagging him is our only choice. So that's what I was wondering about.

This is most excellent news! Koch is a Pro Bowl-caliber Punter. Hopefully he'll get the recognition he deserves next year, although I'm hoping he won't be able to play in it ;)

We have one more month to get a deal done before the current CBA expires in the first week of March... if a new CBA is reached, and a new deal isn't done, Tagging him will be the best option to keep him off the market.

Ozzie and Co. are on a hot streak of making deals! Now time to lock up Ngata!
Patience my friend, next will be Gaither than Ngata.

After Gaither/Ngata, who would you all be willing to guess is next up?
Carr or Yanda.

Carr can wait. Yanda is a top priority.
