Isn't there a way to be able to view who is giving + or - 1s like they do on facebooks "likes". It would be interesting to see who is agreeing or disagreeing.

Nope. Best bet is just to ignore the rep system. Its currently meaningless.

The news section is the worst with improper use of reps.

Yeah, if it wasn't anonymous, there would be a lot more fighting amongst members, and it's simply not worth the time or effort.

I don't think I'm talking about a rep system. Actually, I'm not familiar with it. From what I gleaned from some of the stuff I've read on here, you used to be able to filter the people in order of the number of +,-1's. I'm thinking of just being able to hover over the +,- to see who they were. Heck don't show the -'s just the +'s, it might even reduce the amount of the "yeah, that" kind of post.
Just thought it would be nice to know who was thinking along the same lines. I'm not interested in debating those that disagree with -1's, only if they do a quoted reply. But that's just me.

It was sorta the thought but the rep system, the pluses and minuses, turned into a big headache-- people asking for their accounts to be deleted that kinda goes [url="http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/33680-yahoo-google-and-others/"]with this thread[/url]. We had people lying about duplicate accounts to give themselves "+" 's. we had groups of posters ganging up on other posters giving them "-"s because they could and we actually had posters afraid that potential employers would see the reps and they would not get a job if it was negative ( don't laugh [i]Dateline[/i] did something on it).
On Facebook you can pretty much control who see your posts and we can't do that here.

Wow who knew it was so complicated. Kind of sounds like middle school antics. Curious....unless you use your real name, or are using a company computer, which is normally a no no to begin with, how the heck do employers find out?

Haha, We got into a discussion about that in that other thread. My bottom line was, if an Employer went on the Ravens Message board to spy on me, I wouldn't want to work for them anyways.

Apparently they were asking for handles used on social media. I do know for a security clearance they ask, I would hate that some immature opposing fan would prevent a person from getting a job in this economy. I really thought the posters asking for accounts to be deleted were BSing me until I saw the [i]Dateline[/i] piece.

I just saw this on a news feed and [url="http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/baltimore-city/bs-md-ci-officer-facebook-password-20110223,0,4568785.story"]decided to add it[/url] since this is a local story and dealing with Facebook which you can link to from this site. Not getting into the right/wrong/politics just letting you know it is out there.

I can spend a lot of my time at work on the computer so I see the same members getting "+"'s no matter who they are debating with. People immaturely "buddy-up" with what member they like or even one moderator continually gives me "-"'s because he doesn't like me. The "+" and "-" system is abused here, but that can be attributed to human nature. If you saw what user name gave out ratings they would no longer do it because there is accountability. We Americans don't like that. Childish to 'buddy-up' when we are honestly debating.
