Funny how things change. This time last year (before Oher's season) we were practically taking a collection to put Gaither on a plane to Buffalo.

If Gaither signs, then we can focus on other areas of weakness on our team instead of having to look for a tackle. And we can get Ramon Harewood to back up Gaither, give him some reps.

I definitely feel that this could be a tremendous step in the right direction if we can get him on a low cost, highly incentive-laden deal.

Yes very high on the incentive side given that no one could ever pin down this back ailment and he had injury issues in '09 as well.

JO_75's solution for the o-line is my sentiments exactly. Only thing is you have to give Grubbs some love too. I've forgotten about him. He's like the unsung hero of the O-line. Had a huge block for McGahee in the Chiefs game I think it was. And Harewood's another huge o-line guy. Putting him at LG would kinda be overkill. Perhaps for the Steelers games. Nah I just hope they all stay healthy.

Damn thats right, and our #1 corner comes back. Pft if Ozzie pulls off this Gaither deal, and we get Kindle some magic sauce this off season went from dog doo doo to pretty damn good in about 1 day.

It's amazing how fast a complexion of a team can change. But your right. It would change our team greatly if both Kindle and Gaither show up to camp ready to play.

Yep. Then all that's left to do is send Cam and Flacco to relationship counseling, rip up Cam's playbook and make him learn a new one. We'd be set! :)

lol ravensdfan. Good stuff. As long as this doesn't turn into another Fisher/Young affair. Not to get political, but for the next elections, Fisher should be on Daily Show's Indecision 2012. He was so indecisive. I'm not saying Titans made the wrong move getting rid of Vince Young, but they should also question Fisher as well. And I also forgot Foxworth will be back. I'd like to see how he progresses next season.

Hopefully once he's healthy he'll get in the gym and put that 15 or so pounds he lost back on! Love this guy when he's healthy and motivated. I love Oher too but he's an RT through and through. Worst case scenario, next years tackle class is looking fairly promising at the moment.

Yeah and you know how American(great) Ozzie is with his draft picks. I don't know how they do it, but we continue to get great picks.

This is HUGE! This is AWESOME! Do any of you actually realize what this does for our offense!?

It brings back the UNBALANCED LINE!

Que? Anyways, I read that they start negotiating tomorrow. I'll be getting fillings done fun times. Even though I got some pain meds, i think I'll sit on IR for the rest of the year.

This could be a very long process. Both sides think they hold the leverage.

Ravens think they do because the guy can't stay on the field. Gaither has Superagent, and they saw how terrible the O-Line was without hime.

Gaither and Drew will probably ask for more than his value.

I welcome his interest in returning along with the FO's interest in retaining him. Aside his health issues, I'm as curious about his frame of mind. Is he determined to do whats necessary to prolong his career here and has he come to terms with himself and decided football is what he wants to do.

Hopefully, the year off has improved his health and helped him to realize he missed the game.

I saw this when I did my usual ravens google search. It doesn't sound too promising, but lets hope for the best. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/01/slim-chance-jared-gaither-re-signs-with-ravens/

Its a completely unsupported article that goes against everything we've heard so far. Sounds like a bunch of bull if you ask me.

Yeah and McClain said he's walking around and feeling good. As long as he's not injured, I think we should give him a new contract. But who knows? He could always re-injure it. I'd be disappointed if we gave him a great deal and then he re-injured his back again.
