Wouldn't it make more sense to play to Joe's strengths and the strengths of the personnel right now? we have to force the issue and find the perfect pieces to make the system run smoothly.

I won't disagree completely but a player that fits the system could be drafted.

This just goes to show Cam's stubbornness. We're not built for the kind of offense he wants, yet, he tries anyway. It fails, no adjustments, goodbye Super Bowl.

My thought has always been that Cam was afraid to tip his hand. It seems like he kept the same personnel groupings - because he wanted the defenses to always think he might run. In this situation I drew up, even if a team puts six-seven DBs out there on the play, it still favors Baltimore. Flacco has one really fast target on the outside guarded by the nickel corner and possibly a safety, another fast target in the flat covered by the team's fourth or fifth best cover guy, a team's best corner on Boldin, and team's second and fifth best on Mason and Housh.

I find it hard to believe these would not be high-percentage, low-risk passing plays in the red zone.

Maybe Cam didn't have a hand to tip, Cam may really have been running out of options. Certainly he can draw out a play, but he seems to be a "fundamentals" OC; not as effective when fleshed out in today's game. Much of the Ravens schemes seemed predictable at best. Cam didn't effectively use the wide receivers, he all but nixed the wildcat plays and he barely used the three headed threat of Rice, McGahee and McClain in succession. They relied on Rice so much that even his height wasn't cause for alarm.

We've cheered the Raven's triumphs (as we should), but I'd wager those wins to the determination of the defense; otherwise we would have seen a wider margin in the offensive score. Their transparency must have been pretty obvious to a few of the teams we've gone against as well. How do you fail to score with the core of WR's we've had? I know a win is a win, but I'm tired of them JUST getting by (barely). It's inexcusable.

Pretty sure we did see adjustments.

Too little too late. You know how our offense performed in the second half of games.

When the running game wasn't as strong to run out the clock and teams brought pressure and confused Joe? Yep.

I'm not saying Cam was without his faults at all but it wasn't as simple as him failing to adjust to what defenses did in the second half and the Ravens lost games. A lot went into those "conservative" second half performances.

a revamped OL will go a long way towards saving Cam from himself.

He's been accused of being controlling but with him being "under fire" and the HC supposed to more specific in his demands, I think he'll change his ways.

Well we're supposed to be negotiating with him soon. I just hope he gets healthy. He's one of those big o-linemen. The kind we need.

It's crazy how one man can cause such a mix up for the entire o-line
He can if he strings you along all season so you can't get a replacement.
