[Blogs] Flacco Weighs In On QB Coaches Move

244 posts in this topic

Flacco has a point; This was his best year stat wise. We have invested 3 years in Flacco and he seemed to really buy into whatever Zorn was pitching. You can't blame dropped balls, play calling, and the lack of running game on Joe. All you can ask of Flacco is to get better every year because he hasn't reached his full potential yet. Why fire a guy he feels comfortable with and can learn a lot from???? Time will tell if this offseason gets us over the black and gold hump.

I think Flacco has a point. I didn't see Zorn as the gunk in the gears of the offense. If you look at stats Flacco was doing well. Can he do better? Yeah, and I think he will, but to say Joe (due to Zorn) was the problem with the offense is incorrect.

I am glad to hear Flacco (finally) stand up and voice his feelings about the offense. IT IS HIS OFFENSE AFTER ALL!

I noticed a boldness in his responses I have not heard before, good, maybe we can finally stop the political talk and get to the core of what is holding up the offense.

GO FLACCO GO RAVENS!

Defense wins it all are you crazy dude earn respect? How about being the only quaterback to go to the playoffs his first three years? How about him having the weight of the franchise on his shoulders including a lockeroom full of veteran players and hall of famers ready to jump on you if you make a mistake and every year he proves all the critics wrong. So how about you cut Flacco some slack talk to Cleveland fans about winning 13 games or Carolina fans..We have a franchise QB don't let other talk radio cloud your judgement he has EARNED the right to say something

You know if this crap keeps up, come time for contract signing, Joe may just be fed up and try to test the waters......and there are a lot of teams out there that have the right people in place that would love to have him and that are willing to listen to him, next thing you know Baltimore is back where we started, NO QB, so fans be careful what you wish for. Give him growing room, we will go to the big dance soon patience is a virtue lets practice it

Nothing irritates me more than a fan that says "flacco is the only QB to go to the playoffs his first 3 years" first of all flacco did NOT get the Ravens to the playoffs, our defense is what gets us there along with a dominant run game. Mark Sanchez has been to the AFC Championship game his first 2 seasons and does he get or deserve the credit of getting the jets there? NO, its obvious the jets defense and there run game got us there. i can tell you our defense gets us there every year. but can you tell me how we LOSE the playoffs every year? 08 - Polomalu pick6. 09 - Only 3 offensive points vs Colts. 2010 - flacco blows a 14 point lead in pittsburgh. this year i believe he had a pick and then a fumble both resulted in tieing up the scoreboard. maybe if flacco did a better job protecting the ball/score (especially vs pittsburgh) Jim Zorn flacco & the Ravens would be in dallas next week playing in the Super Bowl. in the AFC North you cant have a QB that gives a team like Pittsburgh 14 points in turnovers in a playoff game with someone getting punished for it.. so flacco would you rather be the one getting fired instead of zorn? because ball security at the QB spot is why were no longer in the playoffs/superbowl so luckily for flacco ZORN is getting the blame not FLACCO. but anyway people that give flacco credit for these playoff appearances need to learn how the game of football works. flacco has ELITENESS all around him, an elite defense, WRs, RBs, coaches etc. thats why hes even seen 3 playoff seasons

I dont blame Joe for speaking out. Joe is progressing, not regressing in his training. He is getting better every year, and maybe he is not an elite quarterback yet, but he will get there. I dont' believe it was a great idea to fire Zorn, and I truly believe that Cam should have been the one to get the pink slip! Maybe that will happen this year, or Cam will learn that Joe needs to do what he does best in the shotgun and just let him make his own audibles any time he wants. Who knows maybe we will see a dominant offense this next season?! I hope so. I truly hated some of the play calls this season, and hope that we make a change for the better.

Zorn wasn't fired for poor performance, he was fired so Flacco is forced to have a closer relationship with Cam. Don't feel like your being attacked, know you being attacked. You're surrounded by superstars and you're barely shining, become a superstar.

4 votes down on one of my responses? evry body hatin on meeee hhaha its true tho cam cameron is a horrific coordinator, and has no one noticed how harbaugh kind of doesnt admit when a player does bad or when cameron does bad only just says that they are great people and have potential to do good? i see him douing that alot im just sayin, he is a GREAT coach i love him but he dcoesnt admit when a player does bad. Flacco is a great qb he is just a little lost for words hes a shy guy atleast hes not like antonio cromartie or others who run their mouth on twitter . Cromartie Smash!!!!!! hahah run matt hasselbeck. Bottom line dont hate appreciate flaccos our franchise qb. He has the best playoff road record ever even adam scheffter said thats a record even some of the best qbs never even reached in their entire career let alon their first 3 years

flako is a deer in headlights. below average on the field, above average in first mariner commercials.
[/quote]

Below average? Statistically this year he was top 10 in most categories. High standards, much?

lets just get rid of Cam already, we all know Flacco doesnt respect or like cam. Cam is poison to the Team. Why would you keep an OC that your franchise QB doesnt like. Nothing is good is going to come out of this, i can see it boiling already, put a fork in him (Cam) he is done and ready to go.

Before anyone classifies Joe as a great QB, I want you to pull up his Playoff stats and look at them.

It might be the system, it might be Joe, all I'm saying is that regular season stats mean NOTHING when you can't do anything from there.

But right now, the system is flawed. When you have 3 possession receivers who all have over 1,000 receptions and you try to use them as Burners, what the heck are you thinking? Seriously?

And when you have a finesse back and try to use him as a power back, what the heck?! Seriously, we have 2 power backs for a reason.

So first season he's a rookie, second season he had a bulging hip and we relied upon the run game and this season he had a good game against the Chiefs but Struggled against the #1 defense. What's your point? Brady his last three playoffs has been absolutely terrible. Worse than Joe. So does that make Joe better?

I'm not saying Joe is great, but he's just getting finished with his third season. His playoff experience has been very 'situational'.

Pretty obvious from this article and Joe's comments that he can't stand Cam Cameron anymore. Kudos to Joe for being vocal about it.

Defense wins it all I respect what you are saying man but in those playoff games we were he made key plays and I don't think it is right he doesn't get as much respect as he deserves.Yes he has great talent around him but hell you gotta have a good QB to get the ball to them..It is like a good chef you can buy all the great quality ingrediants(recievers)you want but not just anyone can prepare a good meal

Why do my fellow Ravens fans hit the panic button on a 3rd year QB and 3rd year HC who have made the playoffs 3 straight years?

People in every other city *SANS* Pitt, Indy and NE dream of making the playoffs 3 straight years. I bet DET would give anything for just once!

Our problems are: 1.Pass Rush. We need another rusher to get to the next level. 2.Oline- other than Ben, Young and Vick, what QB goes to the SBowl with a bad line (EX.. Mr. Peyton Manning can't!) 3.Audibles. Joe needs to make his calls or prove that he can so we can take the next step.. Ozzie can fix 2 in the offseason. Can Joe fix the 3rd?

FYI, don't panic. Here are Flacco and "Golden Boy" Matt Ryan career stats. Why are we worried?

FLACCO-
Overall Reg Record: 32-16
Overall Post Record: 4-3
Stats: 62.6% pct, 10206 yards, 60td, 34int, 19fum, 87.9 qbrating

RYAN-
Overall Reg Record: 33-13
Overall Post Record: 0-2
Stats: 60.8% pct, 10061 yards, 66td, 34int, 10fum, 86.9 qbrating

I honestly think that John Harbaugh & Cam Cameron are going to run Joe out of Baltimore. We can't have our Franchise QB thinking these things. Mark my words, the minute his contract is up in Baltimore, he will be gone.

The play calling is the main thing that needs to be changed. Or at least giving Flacco the permission to change the play at the line of scrimmage. FOR REAL..... Also Cam needs to put some deep pass plays in the game which other teams used very often against the Ravens....Sand-lot plays sure worked for the steelers.

Just because your on a good team does not mean your a great QB (Trent Dilfer)!
Joe is a good QB, but I can't get over his deer in the head lights look against the top teams. Both steelers games he was scared to death. His stats look good but what counts are Wins. Yes he has plenty of them but against top teams he is below average. Just look at the career numbers vs the steelers. We can't win the division if we can't beat the steelers and to go to the Super Bowl we will probably have to beat them again. There is no way around Pitt.
