Joe's Not Happy With Zorn Firing

If Mason retires, I think he will give Baltimore the Opportunity to find a 1,000 yards receiving replacement I hope.
He was the only 1,000 yard option for Tennessee when he played there with McNair (rip).

Not that the team shouldn't find another WR but have you heard of Anquan Boldin? It's not his fault a certain OC didn't make an effort to get the ball into his hands the second half of the season.

I agree, Reed. Even without Stallworth, we were still going deep with Boldin. The majority of the touchdowns he had against the Browns were deep passes. And the flee flicker to him against the Bills as well. I'm not blaming it all on Cam, because there would be times when Boldin was wide open and Flacco would throw it away to the other side. We just have to pray that we're not as inconsistent next season. But back to the subject, I think Joe has every right to be mad about this. The thing is, I don't think he's as mad as people are making him out to be. He'd be dumb to walk on us. I think he has a few kinks he needs to work out before he's up there with the greats. He definitely has the potential.

Only one of his TDs against the Browns came on a deep ball but I agree with everything else you said. Whatever happens with the labor talks, I hope Joe and Q get together in the off-season and work on some patterns.

I don't see how much of a difference that will make if Cam refuses to call those over-the-middle type patterns in which Q excels... maybe Harbs' influence will "force" Cam to utilize the weapon as he should have last year.

It'll make a difference because Joe will be more comfortable throwing him the ball. Like I said before, Cam didn't draw up enough plays for Q. But I still saw Q running slants and crossing routes a good number of times all season where Flacco simply didn't throw him the ball.

I understand that, but Joe seems reluctant to throw over the middle still, so sure he can run those types of plays with no D in his way, but when it comes to game-time, Cam and Joe don't seem to want to go there...

Yep. That definitely has to change next season.

This team is totally capable. They need to play almost flawless football from start to finish in order for that to happen. Nobody is perfect especially with 22 guys on the field and 1 pig skin. The Ravens are almost there....

“I’m kind of taking it personal,” Flacco said. “You’re saying that you’re not happy with the position. I’m not sure if there is any truth to that, but that’s the vibe you’re sending to your quarterback. I feel like I’m being attacked.”

^^

Ummm....Joe...

you aren't making quick reads
you stand in the pocket and hold the ball way too long
you throw into double coverages at times
you rarely scramble out to extend plays
you'd rather lose 8-10 yards running away from defenders instead of throwing the ball away
you get rattled and absolutely crumble under pressure

Yeah....the Ravens top brass are not happy about what's happening at the QB spot! But, instead of telling you that directly to your face (which we fans would do and have been doing on these boards) they release Zorn to send you a message.

and now, you are pissed! i think you got the message!

Joe has every right to be mad. When you've been playing on a team for years, you get close to the coaches, and become friends with them. From what I've heard, Zorn and Flacco were pretty close, so if they're firing Flacco's "friend", then he should be mad. He should be mad because it was a position coach, so like he said, they weren't happy with that position.

Only reply I can think of is another year of being let down by stupid offense plays. Maybe if Cam can screw up enough we can get him out of here next year?

Vince Young? Why? He's the Terrell Owens of quarterbacks... without the production.
