This is the opening and the first song (Blackened) of the entire concert aired live on TV throughout France in Nimes. The quality is excellent and they sound fantastic. You can watch the whole concert (one song at a time) on YouTube.

Enjoy!

Mods, am I permitted to post each song here or does that violate any trademarks? I think since it's all on youtube and was aired live it should be permissible but I'd like to check first, thanks.

Man I love Metallica, and Blackened is definitely one of my favorites by them.

Ironically enough, if you try to watch the video on YouTube itself, it says the video has been removed for violating their ToS. Man, I remember the days YT didn't give a damn what was on it. Google ruined everything :(

my second favorite band! Saw them live in Buffalo in 2009! Great concert!
My Most favorite band is Iron Maiden!!!!!

Saw them in 1987 or 1988 (Somewhere in Time). They're amazing too.

I've seen Metallica 6 or 7 times. Had to pass on the last show as it was on the same day as SB XLIII :(

Really??? Okay, do this: Go to YouTube and search "Metallica Live in Nimes."

When Blackened comes up look at the text (may have to expand it) and the song list is there (Creeping Death is next). I've been watching this on and off since yesterday.

I may check to see if you can purchase this show. They did a great job on it.

Aside from Fuel (I was never quite a fan of that one song) that's a SOLID set list.

Two of their best live songs. For Whom the Bell Tolls is another.

Best show I ever saw was Summer Sanitarium at Giants Stadium in 2003. In fact, I think that was the last time I saw them. Anyway, they sounded so good but James at one point stopped singing Master of Puppets because the crowed was louder than him. It was AWESOME! The hair was raising on the back of my neck just writing this. haha

Dave Murray and Adrian Smith always do the best melodies and the one in this song is my favorite. My favorite outright song has always been Hallowed Be Thy Name.

I don't know why everyone likes old Iron Maiden songs so much. The later albums by far exceed the early ones. (But it is fun to play Phantom - I love to do warm ups with Harris' basslines). Anything off Brave New World and Seventh Son is golden.

Sorry, just had to have my input.

Yeah, I've had some of them sitting there loaded waiting for me to give them a listen. Thanks for the heads up on these, Wardy.

Their first four albums are absolute classics in heavy metal.

That they may be, but they've improved since then. Too many people take nostalgia over reality. Either that or (also likely) a lot of Iron Maiden "fans" only know their popular songs.
