I don't see fox worth as being a good corner. I must be missing something.
somari rolle was better than most of the corners we have and I thought he was terrible his lst two years in Baltimore. I will admidt our lack of pass rush has exposed our corners but we still need an upgrade

dont sign him please dont!!! i want Ngata as a Raven, and Grubbs, and Rice and a lot of the other guys we've drafted to stay Ravens!! Ngata = #1 DLineman = HUGE contract.. gotta pay the guy... Grubbs = Top 5 Guards = Big contract.. pay the man.. Rice = Top 10 RB = Big contract... he's our workhorse pay him as such... not to mention we need to resign all of our guys this year and those are some of the guys for later years.. Webb if he becomes an elite talent = huge contract.. Yanda is up for a contract talk... Linemen aint cheap doesnt matter O or D linemen are expensive

Sign our boys again, would be great to have him, but it would be better to build on the players we have, carr and wilson have said they want to be back, so why sign someone that wont have half as much passion

he's too expensive. resign carr and wilson. look at the draft. then talk about asomugha. i think its way more realistic to go after joseph from cincinatti though

This is why you sign Aso,

1. We need a corner bad and he's proven
2. If we draft one he could take 2 years to develope. Ray, Ed, and Mase don't have 2 years.
3. Ray,Ed,Mase, and Heap will be gone in three years most likely. Thats alot of cap room. We could sign him in a 5 year deal making most of his money the last three season.
4. We could address another position in the first or second round and get younger at pass rush and WR. Possible still pick a corner in the 3 round to learn behind Aso.
5. We are trying to win now and he could help us!

get that cb from miami if he is still available if not trade out of the 1st and get more picks so we can get help with all of our needs. i really hope kindle gets the go ahead from the doctors and he has his head on straight going into training camp. not sure how i feel about gaither, yea he has the tools to be solid as he has shown but will he always have injury problems and at what cost $$ to the teams payroll. like to see us find rays eventual replacement so he can mentor him before he retires. finally we need that young speedy receiver that joe can grow with aka (desean jackson type)

This is why we don;t sign Aso:
1. Wilson is cheaper, and Webb/Wilson combo can be a stout CB combo for years to come.
2.We have other needs such as OL, and pass rushing DE/OLBer that we need to put Aso type money towards.
3. We need to tweak our roster, not go Daniel Snyder and sign big names for big bucks, when we have a solid secondary unit in place.

4. No need to use a high pick for a WR either, David Reed will work his way into more PT, and if we have a OL that can pass protect, our WR are plenty good enough to get it done..Resign Housh, and invite Stallworth to camp, and draft a WR in the late rounds.....

NOOOO...dont sign him. I recognize that he is an elite talent but like "Bleeding Purple" said we have to pay other people first and i think we the addition of Foxworth comin back and pair him with Carr(who had a good year covering #1 recievers, so he should be even better covering #2 wit Fox back) And have wilson and Webb covering the slot recievers I think we have a nice cornerback group. I think we need a upgrade over Landry more than another corner.

A good secondary makes a difference. I already posted this but I will repost. Look at the Jets playing the Colts. Peyton Manning didn't even look to his best reciever all game. He's arguably the best QB in the game with arguably the best WR in the game and he didn't even tempt to throw at a shutdown corner! WOW! The Jets against the Patriots, same thing. The Jets didn't blitz a lot. They sacked Brady four or five times with only four guys rushing. Why? Because the coverage was awesome. Let's not underestimate a shutdown corner with a solid secondary.

I say let's try our best to get him. He's worth the money!

Why do you guys need to post this in the title? Its a pipe dream, we already have enough people saying sign 'Aso' on a daily basis.

A good Pass rush will make a solid secondary better, look what teams did to us with a pass rush, Flacco got knocked on his butt 49 times, on top of a additional 50 hits after the pass.....

Trade Foxxworth. He's not worth the money and sign Asomugha he is worth the money.
[/quote]

Anybody willing to trade for Foxworth and his contract, would probably try their luck with Aso first.

Anyways who's going to want a guy that missed the entire 2010 campaign with a major knee injury?

The only way we would be able to sign him if we put the franchise tag on Ngata(which im not a fan of) and him taking a salary cut from what he was previous making. He was makin 15 mil per year, thats almost what Ray and Sugga make together. No way Ozzie make this move. As great as he is, I personally think he better than Revis, this will not happen.

Foxworth will have to take a pay cut to stick, we aren't going to pay his kind of money for a backup....He won't beat out Wilson or Webb......If Carr leaves, i won't lose sleep over it, i think Cary Williams is a solid CB, and can play the Nickle back, or even start alongside Wilson with Webb as the nickle back....With more passing you need 3 solid CB's as it is....those 3 with Reed roaming the secondary and i think we are good to go......

Hi,

BTW, I, too, think first we should try to keep Wilson - OK, that Asomugha has alrady proven - but Wilson has too - and he's already proven HERE. And him, Carr, Webb - I think we have the talent for a really OK corner staff...

honestly we can grab jonathan joesph in fa or bailey or resign carr and i think wilson will def be back bc he played extremely well..we dont need a super dominate corner if we have pressure on the qb..i think joesph out of the corners bc he is young (only 25-26) and has been extremely solid for the begals up until last year. and we do forget that webb didnt even finish his rookie year so he is still very young we need to give him time to develop. foxworth, i never thought he was that great and now with the knee injury he gona look more like fabian washington so we can cut ties with him dont know if we can get much for him though

carr said he wants to be raven.. wilson said he doesnt care, if he's here he is here, if not hes elsewhere even stated he didnt want to leave seattle... as is Foxworth and Carr as our two starting corners is fine.. Carr is more of a samari rolle type CB as it was with McCallister/Rolle starting.. i think Webb could possibly become a McCallister type CB but for now Fox/Carr starting Webb at nickle and Cary Williams at dime we will be fine.. draft a guy in the 2/3rd round and we are set.. gotta get T Young in the 1st though... guy is a Desean Jackson/Mike Wallace type field stretcher gotta respect his speed hands and routes.. kid is a stud

austin petis and titus young...2 wrs from boise who have been dominate so far...young is getting comparisons to desean jackson the year he came out and they guy has caught everything! his stock may be rising, maybe into the first round but I think we really need to get this guy. however, if we fail to get him there is also torrey smith, jergan, and henerkson (better numbers than ivin and johnson in his senior year)good speed, great hands, crisp routes...if it isnt young I wouldnt be mad at henkerson

the jets beat the colts and patriots by taking the pass away from manning and brady using 6 db's and rushing 3 sometimes 4, something mattison could not figure out on his own.

how about with our first two picks we get CB Harris, then whichever WRs still around in the second round we pick him next and get those needs out of the way first.

I think there is room in the budget for both Asomogha and Nagta. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are coming off the books before Flacco has to get huge money. They can always tag Nagta for a year or two if they need to. Other high priced vets like Heap, Gregg, McGahee and Mason will be moving on in a year or two. The Ravens do not usually get the top free agent on the market, but it is not like they have never tried or never spent money on free agents. A couple attempts in the past failed big time, Elvis Grbac and Leon Searcy. they tried to bring in T.O. when he was still in his prime. Trevor Pryce, Steve McNair, Samari Rolle and Derrick Mason were all established fairly high priced players. Siragusa, McCrarry, Sharpe, Rod Woodson and Sam Adams were either free agents or last year of the contract trades.

I think the Ravens would have to be crazy to not talk to Asomogha and try to fit him into the budget. Our CB play this year was good, but most of the time there was a cover 2 look over the top. Asomogha would allow us to play a lot more single high and blitz games and improve the pass rush without getting a big another big time pass rusher.

man why yall gotta be postin 80 billion times for one post? geesh.. Aso would make our team a lot better for sure.. but the cap just doesnt allow it.. we already restructured a few key players contracts to get boldin in here.. the name HEAP comes to mind as a true Raven.. took a chunk outta his salary to help bring in Boldin.. talk to Suggs and Ngata about getting Aso.. Suggs would have to take a paycut and Ngata needs his big payday so you would have to postpone his bigpay day for a guy thats got maybe 3 good years left.. just like WRs, CBs production starts to fall after 30 and last i checked Aso is turning 30 soon.. and C Bailey even said he would probably get more production out of his remaining years as a safety.. reminds me of another great CB turned S.. anyone else?
