I guess Bud Adams still wants VY to still be apart of the Titans. Did not see this coming. from [twitter]DonBanks [/twitter]

I can't imagine how bad the Titans will be next season.
Maybe they want to tank next season for Luck.

The definition of bush league. I remember thinking this was hilarious when it happened but with what's happened, it's just indicative of a bad owner.

I wonder how many teams are wishing they would have waited on their new HC hirings after hearing this news.
I think Fisher will be an analyst next season.

I think this has to be Bud Adams' decision. Jeff Fisher is smart and if he thought it was better for him to leave he would have asked for his release sooner. Now Bud Adams gets to let Fisher go when everyone filled their Head Coaching Position.

So out of teams who didn't fire their coach, does anyone jump on Fisher?

Probably a ton! 49ers did well with their hiring of Jim Harbaugh, but I bet you a dollar that the Panthers, Browns (although I doubt Fisher would go to either team), and the Broncos. Broncos did decent with what they had at the time by hiring Fox, but Fisher is way better than Fox IMO. Fisher and the Broncs would've been a pretty good fit

Well I gotta wonder who the Titans will hire now since most coaches are gone unless he hires some college coach lol. For Fisher the only team I can see jumping to get him is the Giants, don't be surprised to see the Headline "Tom Coughlin Fired" in the next couple days.

As ridiculous as this move looks right now, I can't really hate on it.

I think a change would ultimately be the best decision for both parties.

Fisher is one of the best coaches in the NFL, but the message eventually gets old if you stay long enough. For Fisher to even have stayed for as long as he has, is amazing within itself.

Here's an update: Bud Adams doesn't know whats going on and where this came from.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/27/report-jeff-fisher-on-the-way-out-in-tennessee/
UPDATE: Reached by Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Adams neither confirmed nor denied that Fisher is on the way out, saying, “Where did you hear that? I better check on that. I can’t talk about it now. I really can’t talk about it now because I don’t know what’s been said. I want to see what is going on.”
Update 2: Even Adam Schefter has confirmed this so this must be true and Bud Adams is playing the role of Al Davis.
The Tennessee #Titans and Jeff Fisher have agreed to part ways and Fisher will no longer be the head coach of the team.
Bud Adams is just mad that he got Adam Schefter'ed by Don Banks.

Unless the Titans also plan to part ways with Vince Young, this is a dumb move. Either the team sticks with Fisher since so many viable candidates are already off the market, or they start fresh completely. They can't make this move just to stand behind Vince Young, when Young has proven himself to be a bust in spite of his W/L record.

Apparently they are going to start over completely in Tennessee as Schefter just said on his twitter that parting ways with Fisher doesn't change the fact that the Titans plan on trading/releasing VY.
Parting ways with Jeff Fisher does not change the Vince Young situation. Team still plans to trade or release Vince Young.
Is there any way possible that the Bengals get rid of Marvin Lewis and sign Fisher???
Doubtful since the Bengals just reached an extension with Lewis.

I'm thinking the main reason Tom Coughlin stayed with the Giants was because Fisher wasn't available and I think the Giants jump on Fisher and fire Coughlin.

True... which IMO would make the Giants very, very lethal. They have the weapons, they just needed consistency, something a good coach brings to a team that has young talent.

Plus The Giants have always had that mid-season slide and bringing in Jeff Fisher would make the Giants a better team for the whole season and make them a SB contender. That is my prediction sometime within the next couple weeks, Fisher will become the Head Coach of the New York "Football" Giants.
