Sony NGP: Next Generation Portable

FINALLY! I've been waiting forever (not really) for this thing to be confirmed by Sony, and now it is! I'm glad they finally have 2 thumb sticks so it feels more like a PS controller. Thoughts?

I want it! Allegedly, it's capable of producing PS3-quality graphics, which makes you wonder if there'll be the ability to play certain PS3 games on the handheld. It'd be awesome to continue playing Mass Effect 2 on long road trips or play Madden at work.

If Sony chooses to go this route, I hope they'll go the current route of movie studios with Blu-Ray films offering free DVD copies by including a free portable copy with every console version of their games.

I haven't been overly impressed by the portable gaming devices of the past few years, largely because i've been more focused on building my PS3 collection, but if the NGP (or whatever they end up calling it upon release) can deliver on some of the preliminary specs as well as Internet speculation on soon-to-be-announced features, I'm sold. Plus, if it retails for $199, that's a comfortable enough price tag for me to buy it as a Christmas present to myself.

I seriously doubt it's $199. It has everything the 3DS has and more and the 3DS is going to be starting at $250. Cameras, Bluetooth Capability, Touchscreen, Two Analogs, Six Axis Sensors and Internet Capabilities lead me to believe it will be just as much or even $300.
