i wouldnt doubt if it was his playing time but like you said only the coaches know. but football players arent going to be perfect. they are men and they are going to want to play and they are going to want to speak. i wouldnt want any football player on the ravens that didnt make it known that he thinks that he can contribute and he wants to contribute. thats why kindle got me so excited when we drafted him. he said im going to be rookie of the year. i was like alright thats a player right there. a couple mistakes later he has to eat those words. i hope he still has that drive cuz hes gonna have to work harder than ever to get back on the field. id really hate to have to think what if with this guy.

Agreed. He's got all the talent and I'd like to see him not only get back on the field but have a productive career. We'll see if it happens.

I seriously doubt Rex Ryan will let go of Holmes. And although Braylon Edwards sounds like a name you would want to see on your roster, he is too inconsistent and almost never shows up to games even though Holmes is NY's premier receiver. Nice try though..

Ochocinco and T.O said on there show that they want to go to the Jets. I don't know if this matters.

Everbody wants to go the Jets. They've built a reputation for letting players run a mok. Exactly what the Jets need are more immature guys.

I love to have Santonio Holmes for the sole purpose of having him burn up the Steelers when we play them next season.

Since the jets will prolly resign cromartie and david harris and the kick return guy they got in my personal opinion they will let go of braylon edwards or holmes 1 of the 2. I personally would love to have santonio holmes he could be the guy that could catch joes long passes that most cant catch up to and he is a very good route runner. Braylon edwards would be a good red zone target and could stretch the field the only problwm with him is his hands. thoughts?

Ain't no way they let Santonio go. Edwards I don't think is even average. He seems to drop 1 or 2 every game.

lol agreed. They have so many character guys over there. Makes me wonder how they keep winning.

A structure like this is pretty at first, but after a while it can fall apart real quick.

It would be sweet to see Flacco hit up Holmes with a sick game winning TD at the end of a game against Pittsburgh. That's one of the reasons I want him here and the fact that he is straight clutch that dude.

Yup, its not like their players are in the media weekly for being complete ignoramuses/ignorami (there is a debate as to which one is proper). As well as really earning their playoff spot when they were gifted it in 2009. And what do they have to show for it? No superbowls and an awesome reputation.

I think our FO will likely target Braylon Edwards. Ozzie said if there's a big target who can stretch the field we'll try to get him and that's what Braylon really is. They signed James Hardy for that reason. Holmes is not going anywhere. Would love to have him though, especially since he used to play for the Steelers, he could get in their head a little. And he's incredibly clutch in big games. He doesn't have size but a lot more speed and way better hands than Braylon.

I wouldn't want Edwards. In my opinion, I think Boldin is a better red zone WR. He dropped the one TD pass against the Steelers, but if you remember correctly, he also caught one against the Steelers in the second regular season game against them and he also had that one sweet TD in the back of the end zone against the Chiefs. ANd I also think Holmes would cost too much. Besides Rex will just yell "Lets go eat a G D snack!!!" and go play with his woman's feet.

Why are we talking about deep threat free agents when our last signing sat on the bench the majority of the season? The team still hasn't given a reason for that yet.

If there's anything we should draft, it's a deep threat who can develop chemistry with Joe. I don't think signing another free agent is the answer for our receiving options.

What do guys think of either Malcolm Floyd or Leggedu Nannee? I know they were both injured at various times this year, but if the Chargers do break the bank for Vincent Jackson there might be a shot that someone is the odd man out. Cam is familiar with Floyd, and even if he hasn't coached Nannee personally, he was in the same system, so I don't think there would be as much of an issue with Cam not using him.

Chargers will not be bringing back V-Jax. I wouldn't really want Floyd or Nannee anyways. I don't think they are that great of NFL receivers. Rivers makes them appear much better than they are.

With Haloti more than likely getting the tag, and if we dump McGahee amongst others, we could have the money for Vincent Jackson. He's the perfect WR for this offense. Not only is he a deep threat, he can make the spectacular catch, go up for the ball, and isn't scared of contact.

Let's say Mason retires, Housh walks and we don't sign Stallworth. That leaves the team with Boldin and Reed, and if you're a huge fan, Marcus Smith and Justin Harper. Jackson would be the best case scenario at pairing Joe with someone who he can grow with. He doesn't have a lot of leverage to command a monster contract since he missed more than half of the season and finished with over 200 yards and 3 TD's.

Just because we got Boldin last year, who says we can't go after Vincent? It's probably a long shot, but by signing him, that alleviates the WR position, letting Ozzie draft defensive players and offensive lineman. If there's any WR on the FA market that we should go after, it's him. Not Braylon Edwards. Not MSW. Not Randy Moss, Terrell Owens or potentially Lee Evans.

At least give the man a look.

EDIT - Wasn't there a rumor on this site last offseason that stated that the Ravens were interested in Vincent Jackson, even after we got Boldin?

I don't think we'll be breaking the bank on anyone in FA but if we do, for some crazy reason decide to spend money, I'd much rather go after Nnamandi before any WR.
