2 WRs That Could Be Free Agents

77 posts in this topic

Since the jets will prolly resign cromartie and david harris and the kick return guy they got in my personal opinion they will let go of braylon edwards or holmes 1 of the 2. I personally would love to have santonio holmes he could be the guy that could catch joes long passes that most cant catch up to and he is a very good route runner. Braylon edwards would be a good red zone target and could stretch the field the only problwm with him is his hands. thoughts?

I seriously doubt Rex Ryan will let go of Holmes. And although Braylon Edwards sounds like a name you would want to see on your roster, he is too inconsistent and almost never shows up to games even though Holmes is NY's premier receiver. Nice try though..

Holmes would cost too much money. Plus, I think the Jets will keep him.

Edwards is inconsistent and drops a lot of balls. Also he has a history of bad behavior and another incident could relegate him to suspension. I don't think the Ravens will look into him because they value character and that is a big concern with Edwards.

I haven't yet forgiven Holmes from his Steeler days and that horrible non-touchdown catch. Like someone else said Edwards is way too inconsistent and you never know what you'll get outta him.

Why sould he be forgiven? He was a Steeler and did his best to beat a rival. I wish the WR the Ravens traded for and paid handsomely had done the same.

Holmes will likely remain a Jet and Edwards is a clown.

I was basically making a point that because he was a Steeler and did do his best to beat a rival (us), that I wouldn't want him on this team. I hope you don't think I don't respect or admire players from other teams (even the Steelers once in awhile).

Not at all. I misconstrued what you said; my bad.

Not sure why you'd be looking for a WR when we can't get the ball to the ones we have. I'd rather see them spend money to strengthen the offensive line, defensive backs and to give Suggs some help around him.

You guys are assured Stallworth and Boldin. What's wrong with using the draft?
Stallworth may not be re-signed. Even if he is, he's never been a picture of health. Mason may retire and Reed, while talented, has yet to catch a pass in the NFL(don't ask why).

The draft is the way to go.

Is it a lock for Sidney Rice to stay in Minny? He would look good as a raven. What about cheaper options like Jacoby Jones or Kevin Curtis, they have the speed. What about Sims Walker? These could be possible options if we choose not to use any draft picks on receivers.

Rice is more than likely going to stay a Viking.

Jones is inconsistent(the Texans have been waiting on him o put it all together forever) and Curtis is at the end of the road. MSW is inconsistent and injury-prone.

I wouldn't mind Holmes.

As for Edwards, we have had enough drops by our receiving corps, dont need any more. We need a WR that can make Joe look good.

EDIT: Meaning we need a Greg Jennings to Aaron Rodgers, Reggie Wayne to Peyton,
Pierre Garcon to Peyton, Austin Collie to Peyton, Towel boy to Peyton, Bowe to Cassel.

Mason is great but we need someone who can run all the routes WITH separation.

I really don't want any established WRs. If this team has truly found it's franchise QB, a rookie WR should be able to make an early impact.

Who do you see us drafting at WR? According to CBS Sports, two of their analysts have us taking Torrey Smith from Maryland with our 1st round pick (Link). I watched some highlights and he's definitely got some potential, but I don't know if we should take him in the first round...

Back on-topic, Edwards drops too many passes for my liking and Holmes will almost assuredly re-sign with the Jets. He was clutch for them all season long (not really a surprise considering his career so far) and I don't think they're gonna let him go. I would much rather just get a deep threat through the draft.

There is no way we are taking him with the 1st round pick.

He might not even be there at 26... not to mention he could be another Darrius Heyward-Bey.

Yeah, I wouldn't either unless, somehow, he's the best player available that we were looking at. I could definitely see him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick though (and yes, I know he won't last that long in all likelihood).

Edwards as stone hands, and Holmes is definitely gonna resign. I think we could look at Sims-Walker or go through the draft.

Rang and Reuter are crazy.

It's too early to tell right but some names are coming to the forefront and the team is very interested in WRs at the Senior Bowl right now.

I'm just not feeling MSW. There are reasons the Jags don't want him back and the last time he was a consistent performer was early '09.

I say use Boldin, D. Reed, Stallworth, our 2 new TE's, and draft- use our money for Defense Namdi!
Agreed , we need to worry about our defense before it becomes non ext. I hope we draft Harris, get a pass rusher.

I think we have a great WR core, even if one doesnt return , we still have plenty. Reed can be are deep threat that everyone is so worried about. Next season i just want to see our WRers Talents used properly.

I would talk about the O line but i think thats priority 1 anyways or atleast get Gaither in the line up if possible and keep him on LT, Oher on the right. And i read somewhere that Birk will be back. I guess Birk being back for one more year wont be bad as long as he is healthy. No one really talked about Birk until he tryed putting the ball up his butt anyways, myself included.

Like i said before worry about the Defense and let them win the game and the Offense just not lose it. Plus with Cam being back , would we use the Talent that we would get anyways, i dont think so, we didnt this yr.
