What if we stopped Matt Ryan late in the fourth. What if we beat the Patriots. What if Flacco didn't throw four interceptions against the Bengals. What if we picked up the Troy blitz and sealed the game.

We would be undefeated, but it still wouldn't matter because the Steelers would beat us at home in the playoffs.

What if Big Ben had been playing in that first game vs the Steelers. Would the win there have made us more mentally prepared for the next 2 meetings?

I think all of the "what ifs" pertaining to the season are pretty much immaterial since we did make it into the tournament. My "what ifs" are focused on the playoff loss;


What if RR had not fumbled? What if Birk had not hiked the ball into his leg? What if Boldin didn't drop the TD pass? What if Housh hadn't dropped the 4th down pass? etc., etc., etc.. There were enough "what ifs" in the second half of that game to fill an entire season. We would now be preparing for the SB had that half of football gone just a little better.

Palamalu was taken with the 15 or 16th pick I believe. We had the 19th so we couldn't have gotten him anyway.....but Nnamdi was taken with the 32nd pick....

I hate the What If game but the biggest one for me is if the Steelers weren't handed the win over the Dolphins. We would have had the first round bye instead of the Steelers and probably would have had a better chance to beat them (or Kansas City if KC beat them) then we did a few weeks ago.
