OLD SCHOOL SMASH BALL

Packers Are Super Bowl XLV Champions!

1,031 posts in this topic

I'm looking forward to the Pro Bowl more than I am the Super Bowl. This is garbage.

On a positive note, some higher power must be acknowledging my anger and hatred after I told myself I'd get violent on the next gloating Steelers fan. I haven't seen a single Steelers fan since.

Yeah, and I want an explanation for us not giving James Harrison more of an opportunity... boy has that come back to bite us in the rear.

This is a good explanation as to perhaps why (from Wikipedia):

Let's not forget that the Steelers had Harrison for two years on their PS and he was cut three times before he came to Baltimore.
Yea, James Harrison didn't really make a case for himself in the beginning. Someone (no idea who) saw something in him though.

I'm really looking forward to the game. It still pains me my team won't be in it but the match-up is very interesting.
Last game these two teams played was a shootout, capped off by another miracle TD catch for Pitt... it should be very interesting indeed, although I'm still not really looking forward to it.

I forgot about that match-up. I doubt we see a game like that but a close game with Rodgers leading his team down the field and getting a win would be sweet.

"Miracle?" It was a great play and an exciting ending, but it was nice throw and catch. Not as though it was a hail Mary or anything.

Agreed. It was poor coverage but Wallace did very well to keep his feet in-bounds.

Already my Steeler friends on FB are basically counting their seventh SB as a given. One told me I was just bitter when I mentioned that the Steeler bandwagon rolls on. I said no bitterness, just GO PACKERS. Then another one tried to make me feel bad turning my back on the AFC. I'm not turning my back on the AFC, I'm just not going to be pulling for the Steelers.
Get ready, there's these two weeks of Steeler fan smugness, at least, and no living with them if they win.
I think its funny that most Squeeler fans expect you to like their team, I dont think so!

So Peter King predicted a Steelers-Packers Superbowl back before the Season started. I remember us having a thread about it. He made some of us look stupid now.

It's funny reading remarks from five months ago.

Yea, why let a few facts ruin a perfect story, right?

I actually like Peter King; I'm always interested to read his column following a weekend of NFL action. I have no problem with his prediction but I highly doubt it comes true.

I heard about that. He is going with the bold prediction to turn heads. He wants to parade that everybody is sleeping on the Steelers. They have no QB for 4 games, they traded away their best offensive player and their OL is in shambles.

It sucks living around Bears fans since they've all jumped on the Steelers bandwagon.
Waaaaah! All the Ravens and Jets fans are now Packer backers so pipe down Nancy. lol

Yeah, but now instead of rooting for a common team (like last year with the Saints) we're rooting for each others' enemy.

I just don't understand that kind of thinking. What's the good in rooting for your conference, especially a division rival?

Packers will beat the Steelers,if Rodgers has time to throw.

I think Team X will always beat Team Y if QB X has time to throw.

That's awkward...lol. Am I the only one that saw Dirty Sanchez wipe his booger on another guys jacket yesterday?

Edit: It was Mark Brunell. what the heck?

Not necessarily true considering Ben hasn't had time to throw all year and has had to improvise in order to get the job done... which goes to show the kind of clutch QB he is.

Nope. Here is the booger video.

You're changing the subject from QB's who have time to QB's who do not. QB's who have time was the subject and they generally have success. QB's who do not have time generally don't. Ben (and a few others) are the exceptions.

Speaking of Big Ben, Freeman is almost a carbon copy, even has the knack for clutch plays/games.

Also does anyone feel sorry for Moll? he's going to watch from home as his old team wins a Superbowl.
