Report: Carson Palmer Wants Out of Cincinnati

80 posts in this topic

He says he won't ever step foot in Paul Brown Stadium ever again?

Bengals Home Schedule:

- Ravens
- Browns
- Steelers
- Cardinals
- Texans
- Colts
- 49ers
- Bills

Well if he wants to stick to that two of the teams that have been linked to trading for Carson are on the Bengals schedule and visit Paul Brown Stadium.... Palmer should change his stance to he'll never set foot in Paul Brown Stadium... as a Bengal ever again.

Why?

He's got a penchant for playing his best football against us.

Yea, but you'd probably go to only seeing him once every 3-4 years.

Depends where he goes, but yeah. Blood's just a well-known hater so he'd probably just want to see Palmer eating potato chips and/or he doesn't want to see the Bengals benefit from it.

Interesting that you call Blood a hater. I've often wondered why he and H8R don't swap profile names. H8R is too nice a guy to be a hater and Blood, well.....what can I tell you that you don't already know. haha

I just want to see if he stands by what he says. Players always bark a lot about what they are and are not going to do during the off season! I'm sure his Paul Brown stadium ban is only as a Bengal, in all of the excitement he may have left that out!

In a related note: Little brother Jordan is setting up off season work meetings.

Bengals may have a very sad season.

Maybe they will be lucky to be able to draft Andrew Luck next year lol.

Palmer I think will end up in San Fran and even though he isn't a Bengal we will have to deal with Carson.

Carson was not our downfall though. It is a "Bengal" thing, like a curse. He only had 167 passing yds the first game. Yeah, he had 305 passing yds the second meeting but we had his number forcing 2 INTs. He only managed one TD (and that was their only score). I'm not worried if Carson falls to SanFran.

Mike Zimmer and Marvin Lewis just have the Ravens' number; Marvin, in particular, knows how Ozzie Newsome likes to draft, so he knows the nuances of the personnel. That's why I was hoping that Marvin Lewis would leave for greener pastures.

Agreed and taking that hybrid cov 2 defense with him that we dont have the personnel to beat. As much as Palmer seems to shred our defense more than any QB on a regular basis not named Manning, Marvin Lewis just knows how we tick too much.

People always seem to forget that, because he was our defensive coordinator for so long, Marvin Lewis also knows how the team drafts. Draft philosophies rarely change, and Ozzie Newsome is no exception to this. Marvin knows exactly how Ozzie likes to draft, regardless of the changes in the coaching staff. There is always a baseline rhyme and reason to each draft selection, and Marvin knows how to counter it with his own personnel. It's like he has an entirely separate gameplan drafted for the two Ravens games each season, independent of the 14 other games on the schedule.

If I were Paul Brown facing a player like Carson Palmer I would cut my losses right now, if a player does not -want- to play for a team, he certainly will not play to his potential, so why bother trying to keep him?

Also from a statistically standpoint, his numbers have been declining since his best season as a starter in 05:
Rate by year
05 - 101.1
06 - 93.9
07 - 86.7
08 - 69 (Only played 4 games)
09 - 83.6
10 - 82.4

With a high pick in the draft, they should be looking at a QB, maybe Cam Newton if they want to take a risk. But in my opinion, this QB draft class isn't really stacked with talent, I would trade back and wait until next year for Jake Locker or somebody else.

Would anyone else find it awesomely amusing if they took Newton and he continued to follow the exact same career path as Akili Smith?

I wouldn't put it past the Bengals to draft Newton, I mean they love players with off the field issues.

Plus I wouldn't mind it either, I would like to see him try to be an entertainer and icon when he has to play Ray Lewis and Ed Reed twice a year, along with James Harrison and Troy Polamalu twice a year.

I'd find it entertaining, seeing him run for his life when they come after him.

Here's a better one that mixes the whole entertainer and icon thing into one:

I'll find it entertaining when he has NFL Icons chasing him down twice a year.
