Report: Carson Palmer Wants Out of Cincinnati

80 posts in this topic

If I were the GM, I'd call him and be like, "Carson, you got your wish. You are now an Oakland Raider. Pack your Trash and.....What? You changed your mind? Good, because I was only kidding now call each one of your teammates and apologize. See you in Mini-Camp Chief."

I think he really wants Chad out. You see what he did without Chad and TO. Imagine if they can get another young guy in draft like 2nd round, maybe Titus Young.

With Shipley, Caldwell and Simpson already on the roster, they need a big WR, not Young.

I'd be pretty interested in seeing what teams would be willing to give up for him.

Chances are though, Brown would demand something pretty steep.

And no higher. However, a team like the Bills might go multiple picks.

I'm sure the perennial free agent contender, the Redskins, will also look to kick the wheels. But do they even have any more picks to offer? That team is pathetic.

Washington would probably trade players to Cincinnati for picks... then trade those picks back to Cincinnati for Palmer.

Palmer needs to go to the AFC/NFC S or a dome team. He seems to fall apart when it gets cold, and most likely its age and injuries catching up with him

Or they could go AJ Green in the 1st round and if the draft happens before Free Agency and the Bengals draft Green that might change Palmer's mind and he'll want to stay.

I think he could revive his career in Arizona, Minnesota, or maybe even SF.
Now Arizona or San Francisco I would consider in regard to trading Carson, but Minnesota? Would the Vikings really want him?

Because they believe they have the pieces to win now and their window is closing with a lot of vets on D.

Since teams are sparking interest, I think the Bengals will listen. If they can get a decent deal for him, I'd think they'd pull the trigger.

I do not think Palmer will retire but i do think Ownership will blink with the right deal.
Exactly, remember Andy Reid. "We are not trading Donovan McNabb. McNabb is my QB." Few weeks later.... "Donovan McNabb has been traded to Washington."

If the Bengals feel they got the right compensation for Palmer they will trade him to whoever offers the best deal. I wouldn't be surprised if both McNabb and Palmer end up in the NFC West next season, 1 goes to San Fran and the other goes to Arizona.

It would be in their best interest to trade him..he does not want to be there and probably not put the effort in and what good would he do them being a bench jockey?

He is a USC boy...SF would be perfect for him..Maybe his old coach in Seattle could get interested.

I think it would be a package deal. If Carson goes, they'll cut his brother.

Carson is NOT screwing around:
“I will never set foot in Paul Brown Stadium again. … I have $80 million in the bank. I don't have to play football for money. I'll play it for the love of the game but that would have to be elsewhere. I'm prepared to live my life."
I understand his frustration. Between key players constantly getting in trouble with the law, Mike Brown being cheapskate and playing with Chad for a long time, he's dealt with a lot in Cincy. However, he hasn't exactly been a stabilizing force either with all his injuries and poor play.

I agree, but I'm curious if he could redeem himself in another city (Zona, Seattle, just to name a couple).

What'd be funny is if the Browns shipped he and Chad Johnson off to Oakland together in a package deal.

Arizona and Seattle are possible destinations. San Fran is another.

No way he goes to Oakland. Davis loves Campbell and Chad would block the young talent they have at WR. It'd certainly be hilarious if it happened though.

Yeah, man is serious about it, no doubt. Can't blame him really though. It always struck me when TO or Ocho would drop a pass, they'd be up in his face yelling at him all the way to the sidelines. He'd just keep walking with his head down. Of course, flip side is he hasn't exactly been performing wonderfully either.

Yay, I hope he retires before they try to trade him.
Why?
