Why?

Spaceballs and Men in Tights were good,  wasn't a fan of the rest of his stuff.

Judd Appotow,  Ben Stiller,  Adam McKay,  Mike Judge....all better imo.

All recent DC movies have been atrocities and I haven't even seen Suicide Squad and BvS. In Rotten Tomatoes I trust. People just want to like these movies to fit in.

Mel brooks is amazing. What is the resume of these other cats?

Spaceballs such a classic. Blazing saddles. His season on curb your enthusiasm was hillarious as well. 403959119-SpaceballsTheFlamethrower.jpg

Judd Aoatow- Train Wreck, 40 Year Old Virgin, This is 40, Knocked Up

Ben Stiller - Zoolander, Tropic Thunder, Cable Guy

Adam McKay - Step Brothers, The Other Guys, Talladega Nights, Anchorman 1 & 2.  He was also part of The Big Short, which is one of my favorite movies

Mike Judge - Extract, Beavis and Butthead, Office Space, Idiocracy.  He also did some writing on the TV show silicon Valley which is amazingly funny.

Not taking anything away from Brooks, just never did it for me.  Like i said SpaceBalls and Men in Tights were great, but im pretty sure id watch all the movies i listed above before i end up watching the two by Brooks.  To each their own, obviously.

Is Mel Brooks the greatest comedy director and producer? I think History of the World part 1 was his best movie

He is up there, definitely. His best movie was The Silent Movie, by far. I really liked Blazing Saddles, High Anxiety and Men In Tights.

Ab-so-lutly.

1&2

And the first three Naked Gun movies.

All in their own category.

Speaking of great comedies, Just got around to watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Life of Brian. Probably should have seen these a long time ago.
