The Movie Thread

Okay. I might go off a bit here, so just bear with me here.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part two, in my honest opinion, was the best movie out of the entire series.

Alan Rickman as Snape put on a magnificent performance. It was easily his best out of all the movies, which is saying something since he has performed spectacularly on the past movies. The part where he was interrogating the students about information about Harry was chilling. The way he winded out every single word was just masterful. Also, when Harry was looking at Snape's memories through the Pensieve, it showed his acting skills. The way he acted so distraught in Lily's death was just amazing. It made me feel for him more than any of the other characters.

I also teared up during Fred, Remus and Tonks' death. The way Ron bawled over his brother's corpse and how Remus and Tonks were still holding hands even when deceased got to me.

There wasn't a scene in there that got me on the edge of my seat. Laughs were had, manly tears were shed, and a great experience was had. David Yates did an exceptional job with finishing off the series with a bang. As one of the many people that grew up with Harry Potter, I feel quite sad that this would become the last installment. I'll miss all the adventures and stories I took from these.

I felt that I got a bit preachy there lol.

Oh yeah, highlight for spoilers.

okay...time to catch up with things.

Hangover 2- too much like the first one...but still pretty funny

Green Lantern- it was alright. Didn't do it for me though. Sub-par movie.

Transformers 3- plenty of nice action scenes. Not a whole lot of good acting. But overall I think it was a good movie.

Super 8- possibly my favorite movie of the summer.

Horrible Bosses- Hysterical. loved it.

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Pt. II- I thought it was a good movie..but the action scenes just didn't seem as epic as the book depics them so I was a little disappointed. But overall not a bad movie.

Wanting to see this summer

-Captain America

-30 Minutes or Less

-Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Captain America was good. I didn't think it was great but just good. Worth seeing.

I thought it was better than just "good," and yes, definitely worth seeing. I saw it in 3D which was also pretty nice.

Maybe it was do to my sleep depravation. Regardless it's worth seeing.

If you have the opportunity to see them, two movies I would definitely recommend are Tree of Life and 13 Assassins. Tree of Life is a very singular movie, and slightly esoteric at times, so I would really recommend looking around and getting a feel for what to expect of it before viewing. 13 Assassins is an excellent action movie. Think 7 Samurai, but if Kurosawa had been disdainful of the samurai code. Takashi Miike does a great job, and the 45 minute sword fighting climax is a bloodbath in a fairly literal sense, but it never feels over the top.

I've heard good things about the indie sci-fi flick Another Earth, and am very much looking forward to a chance to go see it.

Did I ever talk about Scott Pilgrim vs. the World here? It's kind of mandatory.

Before you judge it, please for the love of the Lord watch it first. It will be much much more than you expected. It has incredible pacing, and the director did a great job with the whole project.

I finally watched Cap today. It wasn't bad, but I can't help but think how much better it would have been had it been rated R.

Lincoln Lawyer was pretty damn good.

I actually just watched this and was impressed as well. Usually I'm not a fan of MM and his usual 'big-eyed' acting. But he acted very well in this movie. The story was good, the ending was good. Just a good flick.

This might be a bit late but I bit the bullet and hired The Princess and the Frog (my girlfriend loves animated movies) it was pretty damn good, Toy Story 3 good.

watched insidious. I give it a 7-10. I really liked how they kept the main demon pretty much hidden the whole movie... until the end. The shadow in the corner of the room was really cool But feel it was shown on screen a tad too long. The trick is to keep the audience wondering, but revealing it too early removes the fear and curiosity. The unknown is fear. also its face behind Josh in the one scene, caught me off guard, was a good idea, I dont know how that doesnt scare the piss out of someone monetarily ....

A jumpy movie. But I felt it got silly near the end.

Planet Of The Apes was awesome. I'm a fan of Franco. Friends With Benefits was good as well. 30 Minutes Or Less was absolutely awful. Good cast, but bad, bad movie. Can't wait to see Contagion and Apollo 18.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. James Franco was awesome.

Lincoln Lawyer was also very good.
