There's a recurring theme in the movie of "you can't stop what's coming" which is what I took from the ending (in more ways than one). I was kind of puzzled by the ending too when I first watched it.......

I agree. I actually really liked the ending... but that's coming from a guy who really liked the ending of the Sopranos, so take that comment for what it's worth lol

anyone seen Sleepers?.. I picked it up at the pawn shop last week and was impressed. I also got "Hostage" with Bruce Willis and "Ransom" with Mel Gibson. I hadn't heard of them, but you can't beat the 2 disc sets for $2 lol.. Hostage was what I expected... haven't watched Ransom yet.

I also bought "Heat" with De Niro, Pacino, and Kilmer. It looks/sounds good, but cant bring myself to watch all 170 minutes of it.

Heat had some great performances but overall left something to be desired.

There's never really been any movies by Michael Mann that have truly impressed me.

I have to agree, Mann is more style over substance but the face to face scene with Pacino/DeNiro is undeniable. Miami Vice was better than I expected, great production values.

I didn't even realize Mann produced it.. The last movie of his I saw was Public Enemies, which was a solid story, but sloooowww

According to Moviefone, a Batman reboot is planned after The Dark Knight Rises is released in 2012. Christopher Nolan is slated to stay on with his wife as producers of the reboot, and the franchise is slated to go off in a different direction. There is a good chance that this new vision of Batman won't be another origin story, and that he'll fit in with the proposed Justice League film that could possibly be released as early as 2013. (LINK)

I want a live-action Batman Beyond film!!!

Very interesting.

In addition to fitting in with the Justice League, I'm sure the reboot will probably have more of Batman's more "unrealistic" villains like Mr.Freeze, Poison Ivy, Clayface and Solomon Grundy.

A live-action Batman Beyond movie would be awesome, if done right. With the futuristic setting and gadgets Terry relies on, I don't know if I'd trust a director to maintain the Batman feel and not have the movie turn out like so many generic action flicks.

In addition to the Batman Reboot, a X-men 4 (not First Class) and 5 are on their way as well.

Also,

  • Hawkeye from Avengers will actually have some lines in the new Thor movie.
  • The Wolverine is still going to be made; just in search for a director.
  • A Spider-man 2 is already being written following the series reboot.
  • Peter Jackson has casted some women for The Hobbit, even though it was not in the book. I guess he felt it was too manly?
  • George Lucas will be re-releasing Star Wars....in 3D. The teat on that cash cow is still being pumped...
  • Another Tron Sequel is in the works.
  • DC plans to have a Justice League movie sometime withing the next 5 years.
  • Rise of the Apes will be coming out August 5th.
  • Chris Pine has reportedly read the script to Star Trek 2 and absolutely loves it.
  • An Avatar sequel is in the mix but being held up because of the disaster that affected Japan.
  • Unfortunately for fans of the game, Marky Mark will be playing the role of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted Movie. DeNiro and Pesci are also attached to the project....wish I was kidding. Shame they couldn't call up Nathan Fillion

I hope Star Trek 2 turns out great; I loved the first one, and it seemed like a faithful interpretation of the original universe that pleased both hardcore fans and outsiders like myself. The character development was particularly great, as it did more to give me an emotional investment than the Trek films of the '90s. Then again, if I were a Trekkie, I might've had more reason to care back then.

Also,

An Avatar sequel is in the mix but being held up because of the disaster that affected Japan was the first movie.

Fixed.

Anyone see Sucker Punch yet?

I haven't seen it, but I haven't heard good things about it either. Apparently it's been called "The Last Airbender" with bustiers.

People have speculated that Bane and Catwoman to be the ones to get the cut in the movie. Though the casting isn't official yet, almost everybody believes that they will be played by Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway.

I watched The American with George Clooney, it's good to watch a film where you can't tell what's going to happen next. I also loved the european style which is unique and long on atmosphere. Up in the air is a really good movie too.

RED was a little disappointing.

I'm aware of that. I was talking about the reboot.

"What Just Happened" (2008) with De Niro, Sean Penn, and Bruce Willis was pretty bad... Bruce Willis was awesome for about the 10 min he was in it, but the story line was pretty mehh

Anyone see Sucker Punch yet?

Yes, I'd give it an 8 or 9 out of 10 for graphics, but the plot just wasn't there. Semi-entertaining movie, and not really memorable.

Any fans of the Millennium series? Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a pretty good movie once you get past how harsh the language sounds.
