Congrats to all and Poe! It's always fun being the underdog. We get used to it by now!

I wish the Redskins the best of luck! Coming Dec. 7th is the real showdown. Hopefully, the game turns out just as good as the Mascot competition.

As of right now we are 1/1! :D :D :D

you won by cheating you are the patriots of the mascot competition world.the redskins did not cheat there is no proof except for doctored emails and screen shots by you guys.there is absolute truth that you won by cheating here it is http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/index.php?showtopic=3313 how can you deny that huh? oh yeah baltimore ravens have one super bowl title not 2 compared to 3 for the skins.httr

Dude, what are you talkin about? As far as I'm concerned you have no proof at all of any cheating. There was none. At least not from our side. You talk a lot about this Seastallion guy. How do you know he wasn't just all talk? How do you know this guy did anything at all. I for one think he was just some guy with nothing to do tryiing to create illusions in all of our heads that he was making some sort of difference in this competition. Maybe I'm wrong, but we have no proof either way. You're basically saying "Oh I think that this guy may have done something to help you guys, just because he said he did" What you fail to realize is that people can lie. I don't think he did a thing. I'm sure you're going to cling on to every last bit of hope and pray that he did, but guess what...

You've got nothing at all!

In fact there were some pretty iffy things said on extremeskins so maybe you should be a little less hypocritacal.

Why don't you just sit back, accept the fact that you lost (and yes you have to accept it, cuz it happened) and think of a nice congragulotory mesage for all us fans of the NFL's fiercest mascot!

P.S. Baltimore has two super bowls. Colts and Ravens. Both won for the city of Baltimore.

Wow, I think I covered everything, anything else you skins fans want to complain about?

First of all congratulations to the majority of Ravens fans that voted fairly and honestly. Poe has won and honor is due.

Hats off, jolly good show, pip pip cheerio and all that rot yada yada yada...

------

Now that that's out of the way let me clear up a few things for posterity.

Since the winner has been anounced there's no need to go on with the charade. As some of you have guessed and others will no doubt find hard to believe I'm neither an Eagle fan nor am I a Ravens fan.

I am now and will continue to be until the day death claims me one and only one thing-- a burgundy and gold bleeding, hail to the Redskins singing, season ticket holding, Redskins fan.

Pause...

Yeah, that's right, I'm a Redskins fan.

DISCLAIMER: I came here of my own volition without consulting or informing ANYONE at ExtremeSkins about what I intended to do. I alone am responsible for the consequences of my actions.

I came here because it seemed clear to me from the begining of this round of polling that something fishy was going on. Your team, The Ravens, that barely managed to break 100k votes in an all out effort against the lowly Bills (we had over 300k in the same round) was beating us HANDILY right out of the gate!!?? You had something like 57% and climbing the first day.

I knew there was no way that was the result of a fair vote. But what could I do?

It was pointless to complain-- we had circumstantial evidence that in both the Eagles and especially Vikings rounds that shenanigans were taking place and even sent emails to Sportsline complaining about it.

Sportsline's lame response was to parrot out the old company line "we looked into it but didn't find anything". Thus insuring that anyone devious enough to use those questionable unethical voting methods could essentially do so unhindered by any worries of punishment. Absent consequence, morality tends to become much more relative.

My first thought was to fight fire with fire. If they're cheating let's out cheat them but there were posts all over the Extremeskins board admonishing us against doing that and besides I didn't know how to cheat--I'm not technologically savy (hence my naive comments about using mainframes which a poster on Extremeskins said would be a silly way to manipulate votes). Plus cheating just didn't feel right.

So I decided to engage in a little game of spy vs spy, something that was more in line with my abilities. I would infiltrste the forum playing the role of a typical Eagles fan. Which means I would be obnoxious, overbearing and most of all dumb-- no make that dumbere

My mission was the following:

1. Stop the cheating if possible. (failed)

2. To find out who was doing the cheating. (failed)

3. To find out how they were cheating. (failed)

4. To motivate Sportsline to investigate (Succeeded!)

5. To motivate ExtremeSkins members to keep voting because "seastallion" was an butt. (Succeeded!!)

6.

The goal of this deceit was NOT to get Poe DQd but rather to force Sportsline to take notice that something strange was going on with the voting. To make them seriously investigate this before declaring a winner (something they clearly didn't do in the previous round).

The goal was to insure that the mascot who won did so because of people voting-- not because of scripts or macros or any other underhanded methods. Who on either side (other than the cheaters) could argue with any result so obtained?

I mean when it comes right down to it all anyone wants is a fair vote. Righ?

To Redskins Nation and my brothers and sisters at ExtremeSkins I apologize for the things I said about you and the Z. They were neccesary untruths. I was behind enemy lines fighting the good fight. I was undercover in dangerous territory and to survive I had to be believable. Consider it as if I was a professional wrestler who played the part of a goon and endured the jeers of fans for the good of the team.

To Ravens nation I am convinced that most of you voted honestly. A few of you sent me PMs asking me how you could help me out. But no one admited that they had been doing anything untoward. My methods were admitedly reprehensible I apologize for that but they had a noble purpose behind them-- the seeking of truth. I never found out who was behind the "mega-votes" but at least Sportsline agreed that they existed and while imho their resolution was asinine and simplistic they did disqualify many votes.

To Sportsline in the future please don't do a poll unless you have the resources, technology, time and most importantly the will, to see that it is administered properly. Otherwise you risk repeating this distasteful fiasco. Oh and while your resolution did disqualify bad votes it also disqualified good votes (on both sides). The result being that no one really knows who really won the contest. Also while I accept the result I nevertheless disagree with your premise that the "bad votes" started late in the game. I think it was clear that from the beginning something suspicious was going on.

To Chief Z I truly hope your eyes never touch these words. I know you are an honorable man and would not have wanted me to do this. But please forgive me. I was willing to besmirch my honor to uphold yours. You are our statue of liberty, firm, strong and resolute. A beacon of hope in good weather and fair. Winning this award would have been an outward sign of an inward grace but you already know that you will always be first in our hearts. God speed kind sir.

Now perhaps we can put this sorry affair behind us, lick our wounds and go forward-- at least until our respective teams meet on the field of battle on December 7th 2008, the 67th anniversary of a day that will live in infamy.

I'll likely be by the week before to renew acquaintances.

Til then I wish all of you health and good fortune both for your team and more importantly for yourself and your loved ones.

-----------------------------------------------

A final note to my old allies at ExtremeSkins.

I gave you guys a secret message about my intent and identity in the post below a few days ago. Thanks to an intrepid soul (not me) who created an account under seastallion's name and repostedall my schtick on Sportsline it still exists...

The truth shall set you free!! Yee haa!

"WING ATTACK PLAN R"

Remember those words. I will post them again sometimes tomorrow. It is the code my crew is using for what I've have been call "the 24 hour surprise".

Those words will be followed by a slaughter of votes in tidal waves that will peak at bursts of up to 500k votes/hr! Overcoming any deficit the Deadskins may have created by then.

Those words will signal the end of Cheap Z's hopes for victorious and the begining of good ol honest Poe and his winnings against the filthy Deadskin cheats.

When you read those words buckle yourself up and strap in tight because the full furified anger of Eagle Nation, Viking Nation, and Ravens Nation will come down with a vengeants against the evil doer cheatings the Deadskin has done spread out malicioused.

So my Raven friends I tell you not to worry not to fret don't not waste time spending it on votings with worryed thoughts. Rest easy Sea Stallion will guarenteed your victory no matter how many votes it take to get it.

So just let me carry things to the winnings end like it one of them college bowl games and like the once great and perhaps not long forgotten BCS once did!

The real truth is written here: MY REAL ENEMY HAS NO IDEA WHAT I GOT COMING FOR THEM. NOT BY VOTES ALONE BUT BY GUILE AND WIT HAS I FOUGHT THIS SECRET BATTLE AGAINST THE REAL CHEATS!!

ON MY HONOR ---AS A LOYAL EAGLE FAN-- I SOLEMNLY GUARANTEE POE'S VICTORY!!

Oh yeah "Wing Attack Plan R" is a bombing mission that backfired (just like mine would have done) from the classic film Dr. Strangelove. It's a movie that stars Peter Sellers who in a tour deforce portrayed 3 different characters all with variant personalities and mannerisms. A bit of a conceit I admit.

The rest should be clear enough.

The mascot competition is over. Can some of you Redskin fans just drop it? Some skin fans have moved on while there have been a select few who decided to drag something on. Just leave it man. Your team will get its chance to go against our team.

Listen up,"Derp" I think that there were plenty of Ravens fans to vote for Poe, but who know why we had so many votes for the final. Maybe we had plenty of votes from other teams fans. Maybe they hate how annoying you skins fans are and didn't want o see you win. Like I said, just because seastalion said he did something doesn't mean he did and Baltimore has two championships, that all that matters buddy
