Yep no matter how little this story is, it'll be a black mark upon him and the organization in the eyes of outsiders. Such a shame.
Yeah no matter what the real truth is the damage is done. All the talk will be "so no wonder Ray Lewis performs at this level for 15 years". Ugh. Just so much ugh.

But in the end, its just like my momma taught me. It really doesn't matter what other's think, its just what you believe.

It's on Rotoworld.

http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=842

David Vobora was suspended in 2009 for using one of the company's sprays. No word on which one though.

Is this story all over sports tv and radio already?
Nope if you Google news search Ray Lewis right now. All you get is the original posting.

The spray is probably water from the fountain of youth. That's why Ray is still one of the best LB in the game even at his age!

Now will we get to hear Steeler fans says he murdered someone due to "roid rage"?
I don't think Steelers fans have any right to say anything about Ray considering what their QB has been through... and so at least we have something we can fight back with.

This is a non-story, it will go away and the only reason it will be something major is because of Ray Lewis and who he is.

Doesn't staying hydrated with water, gatorade, and the like "enhance your performance?" Doesn't getting a cortizone shot "enhance your performance?" Last I checked, Ray Lewis has NEVER been suspended for failing a drug test. I don't see how this is a story.

You must not spent a lot of time around Steeler fans (lucky you lol). The first thing out of their mouths when it comes to the Ravens and Lewis is that whole fiasco. But yeah, I've definitely been using Ben to my advantage in those... disagreements. Which is ironic, since it's usually Ben who's the one taking advantage of other's.

The "story" is media hype and sensationalism at its best. You'll find dirt on any one if you dig deep enough. And, if they can't find anything....they'll make it up or twist the truth into their own.

Maybe if we all shut up right now, no one will pick up on it.
This. Delete the thread please, lol. This is to much and it hasn't even been a week yet since the loss

I see what you did thar.

This is most likely a non-story. I'll wait for the facts before speculating anything.

We'll have to wait until all the information comes out before we jump to conclusions.
I agree, but it appears some may have already jumped.

I honestly hope he isn't using this stuff...but it would explain a lot wouldn't it?
Not really. I highly doubt he needed to use this stuff his entire career. Some of the plays he's made even in the past three years, when he's really began slowing down, have been on experience alone.

Like what? This didn't even come into existence until 2008 which, even if he did use this stuff (which we do not know) would only mean the last two years. I don't see how this explains anything in regards to Ray's play.

Ray is not even mentioned in this article Seems to be more about Hue.

If you read the Associated Press' article on it, basically, the only reason this even created a stir is because of the NFL's policy of prohibiting coaches from endorsing supplement companies -- nowhere does the article say anything about banned substances being explicitly endorsed by Hue Jackson or anything about NFL players knowing what substances the products contained.

This is akin to an athlete using any regular supplement sold at GNC. The company itself also markets itself as a legal, safe alternative to steroids -- and there's plenty of legal substances that are not banned by the NFL that are technically performance-enhancers.

This is sensationalism; anytime a story has a headline with the phrase "performance-enhancing drug," people automatically think of the traditional, villified examples like HGH or steroids.

S.W.A.T.S. as an organization is against "illegal performance enhancing substances" (said on their website). For one of their products to contain something illegal for NFL athletes, the league must be really stingy about their rules.

This sucks, whether true or not, it sucks! Just another "ding" against the team and Ray, specifically.
Your right it sucks. All there has to be is one headline with Ray linked, and forever no matter what the facts are, he will be linked. Great for all those haters out there, who don't give a damn about facts.

Eh I mean just the fact that he has been able to sustain a career as well as he has. We live in an age where any lengthy and successful career like this almost automatically comes into question due to all the supplement use in the major sports. That these reports have even arisen sheds some negative light on the issue...

when will ppl learn not to text :34853_doh:
When Phone Companies decide that they will take away Unlimited Texting from being Free and people will have to pay for it. Or when Phone Companies just decide to go back to a old style phone when you couldn't text.

Ray.... your old fashioned get a old style phone that doesn't have texting please!

If Ray were taking HGH it wouldn't be for just $50 a bottle and on some low level website.

The web site has testimonials from Jamal Lewis, Shaun Rogers, Roy Williams, Ray, among others. If he was trying to hide using some banned substance, why would he have a huge testimonial on the website?

My understanding is that the product has just deer antler extract in it which helps the body stimulate its own IGF-1. It doesn't contain ANY synthetic or natural IGF-1 or HGH in it.

We can all go and buy this same stuff at GNC and like others have said if Ray was taken something illegal he would have eventually failed a urine test the last 2+ years.

Finally remember when the Cushing, Merriman, Peppers, etc stories all came out? They were all over within minutes.

Yahoo wrote an article on this. Again, incorrectly stating that IGF-1 is IN the deer extract.

Apparently, the entire team was on this "spray"?

Wow, this season has gone from bad to ... I can't say the words on this forum.

Ed Reed even? My heart sunk a little.
