Camp Battles

The most interesting competitions for me will be at OLB, CB, OT, 2nd string S, 3rd and 4th RB, and 4th WR.

OLB: We have JJ in the lead, but I wasn't impressed considering he had only 58 tackles 2 sacks and 2 passes deflected. He was always standing at the end of the play and the only guy on defense who had a clean uniform at the end of a game. Antwan Barnes shows a lot of promise. I really like this guy and he might be our fastest linebacker. Dan Cody is finally back and this is his last year to show us why was a high draft pick. Rex says he is quite a talent and really good when he stays healthy "Knock on everything".

CB: Fabian Washington could possibly take away Samari Rolle's spot if he has a tremendous TC. I would love to see Rolle come back and make plays like it was 2003 (6 INTs). David Pittman showed a lot of promise in the last game against the Steelers with 2 INTs in a single game. Rex said Frank Walker has performed better than anticipated. Lenny Walls will be great to watch considering 6'4 CB's are rare in the NFL and I would love him to step it up and help us shut down all the tall WR's in the league. Ronnie Prude had 2 picks in 2006 and was put on the field 5 times. I hope he turns to be a diamond in the rough like Priest Holmes Mike Flynn and Bart Scott

OT: Jared Gaithers, Adam Terry, Mike Kracalik, and oh yes Oniel Cousins. Gaithers and Terry will compete to see who has the best pass blocking skills. Adam wants to take over for JO, but Cam feels LT is Gaither

Barnes will have a huge opportunity to steal a starting job in training camp and pre season. Suggs won't join us until the regular season starts, so Barnes will be getting reps with the starters in training camp and pre season as well. If he does well he might start for us this year over JJ. Hopefully.

I'm looking forward to seeing a healthy Dan Cody cuz if he is what we think he is...he could definitely find himself taking starting reps at DE this year, especially with the way things are going with suggs.

-Also, im interested in the 6'6'' kicker on our roster. I know kickers never get love but the dude is 6'6''. Not to mention Stover only has about 10 more years left in him..

-Being that i played WR in high school im interested in Marcus Smith. I was very physical as wr and often times enjoyed blocking more than catching. I can definitely appreciate a Wr that looks for contact. I think Physical Blocking Wr's should get more love cuz if you can seal a corner then that could be a quick 6 on the board. Nothing like crack-backing a DE or LB, oh and the sweet pancakes on the safeties mmmm...mmmm...

-Flacco and Troy are givens but im also interested in Brendon Ayanbadejo. I think Rex will find away to use him on the field more often then many people might think. Definitely looking forward to seeing what talents he has.

-Rice cutting up the practice fields is gonna be fun to watch. i think the samari/fabian/walker/ivy battle will be very competitive and they all have something to prove! 2 spots up for grabs and 4 players trying to earn one of them...Mhuah hahahaha
