Ravens Vs GB/CHI

23 posts in this topic

I didn't see this posted anywhere else, sooooo...

Reality has sunk in that we're not going to the big game this year. Now it's time for the hypotheticals.

I was talkin with a friend of mine who's a Cowboys fan and we were talkin about whether or not we would've won in the Super Bowl. He said we wouldn't have been able to beat either team. I didn't believe him cuz he's a Cowboys fan and I'm the mad homer. Also, he's a Cowboys fan.

So I'ma axe you guys to provide an objective point of view, if at all possible...

Could we have beaten what seems likes a couple of red-hot NFC teams?

Talking about "what ifs" hurts at this point. lol

I think we could have beaten Chicago, because there offense doesn't have an abundance of weapons, and Sugss would have terrorized that o-line.

As for GB, I'm not so sure. I think I would pick them if it was us against them in the SB. I don't think our secondary is good enough to keep up with all those WR's, and I don't think our offense would do much against that defense.

I think Green Bay would pose quite a challange and Rogers might pick us apart. I think we could certainly beat Chicago. I think Green Bay is going all the way this year, in a very green superbowl (jets/pack)

We beat Chicago. With Cutler's proneness to the INT and their questionable O-Line at times. We can take them down. Their schedule was pretty soft this year

We lose to GB. Aaron Rodgers can get the ball out of his hands quickly and accurately. So while our guys are 10 yards off playing the deep ball, we'd get scorched.

Either way, we probably melt down in the 4th quarter.

We'd blow out CHI like we did KC.I get the feeling that many preseason prognasticators were correct when they predicted a GB victory over the Ravens in the SB.

I think the Ravens would have handled Chicago pretty easily but Green Bay would probably throw the ball all over and make easy work of the Ravens Defense. Seeing that James Harrison had ,what, 3 sacks last week, I can only imagine what Clay Matthews would do.

We would have beat Chicago in a good game, their WRs matchup well with our corners, speed vertical guys, they dont have any outstanding route runners or crafty WRs. Olsen doesnt scare me at all, we tend to completely shut TEs down, Forte is to their offense what Rice is to ours, I'd have a hard time believing Forte would run on our front 7 at all, and he's not going to catch 8 passes out of the backfield.

GB would have torn us to shreds with the way Rodgers is right now.

If it were a GB/Ravens matchup. I could see us being portrayed as the villains yet again. While Rodgers and the adversity the Packers had to deal with, would be the hero on the white horse to slay the dragon.

...and for some reason, I'm okay with that portrayal. lol. I guess after a while, you are forced to embrace the identity. We all as close fans of the team know otherwise, but its all good.

If that were the case then I'd pick us to win, we love to wreck a party.

The Chicago game might just have been won.
The GB game.. Loss. Definately.
Reason: Cam. His playcalling is way too conservative against these type of defenses.

Green Bay definately looks like the team to beat for the NFC and like everyone else, I am pretty confident that we could have beaten the piss out of daaa bears. We would have for sure had our hands full with the packers. Our only hope I think would have been if Ngata could punch him in the nose like he did big ben (AWSOME), only hard enough to keep him out of the game

Like pretty much everyone who's posted has already said, I think we'd beat Chicago. Not to take anything away from them but I think they're the NFC team this year who are most likely to miss out next year. We match up well to them, and as long as Peppers is kept away from Flacco, we could do enough against them.

The Packers could beat anybody at the moment. If they still had Ryan Grant, then they'd be the most rounded team in all of the league, period. Rodgers is on fire, their WRs are making plays, and their running game hasn't been completely dead the past couple of weeks. On the defense, they have a good pass rush as well as a play making secondary. We'd lose to the Packers IMO.

I don't want to talk about beating anybody in effigy because you simply don't know which Ravens team is going to show up. The one who dominated for 4 quarters like against KLC or the Broncos earlier in the year or the "other" Ravens team that can't put 4 quarters of solid football together. The former can beat anybody hands down and the latter will beat most teams but not the best ones. The 3rd quarter of the steeler game is about as badly as I've ever seen a team play for 15 minutes. The Ravens had an opportunity to paste the Steelers in their own house and blew it big time. Name the last time we were up 14 on Pitt let alone score 24 overall.

Like many here I'm simply disgusted, haven't talked about football all week.

Go Packers....

there is no definite in losing or winning. Flukes happen.

We were very inconsistent this year. Neither one of them would be a blowout.

Ravens vs Chi, would have been an awesome game to watch.

Green bay would have had our number on passing. We would have had to run, which we've struggled with.

I would put us over Chicago, because with the way our defense plays I think Cutler would have coughed the ball up a ton, especially considering his poor o-line. If it was Green Bay, they'd win, because that defense is scary good, and maybe the only think scarier is how in control Rodgers is of the offense.

i think wed destroy the bears .. and we could've beat the packers in a good game if they play calling and execution was good enough offensively i think the defense would play good enough to win also
