Way to keep the faith.

I am trying to be as optimistic as possible, I hope that they completely revamp the playbook and we tear it up. I just think Cam showed his inablility to change and adapt this season. I am hoping for a transformation, that is what the 25% is for. Hopefully Harbaugh and Cam can come together and work it out. I love the Ravens!

2nd half play calling = 1st down play a action
2nd down run ray rice fumbles
1st down play action joe flacco throws interception
1st down play action
2nd down run
3rd down matt birk fumbles snap
So repetive and conserative costed us the game and the steelers ate it up give me one reason to keep cam cameron yea cam didnt turnover the ball but with crap play calling and our time of possesion goes down and the steelers knew what was coming so they knew how to play against it thats why the ball got turned over. Trends dont last long and they never will. But in cams eyes any lead is a great lead no matter who we are playing.

Rice's fumble came on a pass play.

The fumbled snap occurred on second.

I just watched this and it's shameful. On three different first downs...

A four streaks plays with Rice as the underneath option. Joe gets sacked Cam... <_<

McClain pitifully at Harrison in attempt to cut him and McGahee getting abused. Joe gets sacked. I didn't see the routes so don't what Joe was looking at so maybe that was on him but the protection was very poor.

Flacco throws a terrible pass to Heap on a play where Boldin running a slant route and McClain as the only other receiving option.

While I agree that Cam didn't use the offense to its fullest potential, we need to cut him a little bit of slack. Honestly, with the o-line he had, we're actually kind of lucky to have done so well.

Yes, he could have made adjustments. However, the playbook is written during the off-season. He had to assume that the OL would be healthy and functional when writing it. You cant change a playbook mid-season. Looking at what he did the past two seasons, he did well with a functional OL. We had fewer receivers last year, but higher offensive production? Oh thats right, our oline was healthy...

The game is won in the trenches, and there is no such thing as a play set up to fail.

Thoughts?

You're pretty dead on with your review of Cam, the offense and the OL.

Kudos to you for being one the "odd men out" with your opinion. I voiced the same sentiment back when the lashing started on Cam.

There are better people out there fro the job but i say stick with him and see some new schemes on offence, if McClain stays i would like to see more action from him :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

I might agree that there is no such thing as ONE play set up to fail. If your O line is obviously weak, and your running game is obviously ineffective, and you have any idea what to do as an OC, you don't send in the same tired plays that have not worked all season long. You might not be able to change the entire playbook mid-season, but yes, you can add this play or that play or use personnel more suited to certain plays. Perhaps, and it's just a thought, you might not run draw plays on 2nd and long with an ineffective running game? Perhaps, you don't keep sending your fastest WR on end arounds that have not worked in the least? Perhaps, you stop lining up your QB under center and use the shotgun more, giving him not only a clearer view of the field but a little more time? These are simple things. They are not too complicated to be changed up mid-season. IF you are an effective OC with a clue.

As a Boldin fan, I had always wondered what it would be like if he went to an offense that used him more creatively as I thought both Haley and especially Whisenhunt (with plays designed by Chris Miller and Russ Grimm) were pretty uncreative and predictable.

It annoys me that Cam Cameron used him even less and really only had one game against the Broncos where it made sense to use him less.
